refeed value

I had an unplanned refeed on friday night. :-) I have been at or under
1300 calories during the week and allowing myself to go to 1500 on the
weekends (though I haven't used that leeway too often). Friday was
1880. The rest of the weekend was under 1300, so I don't really mind
and I'm not upset over it. I mention it because I wondered after the
fact how many of you refeed and do you see value in a refeed at all?

I didn't gain any weight and I exercised a LOT on friday.

The other thing I am wondering about is the pattern of weight loss
that I experience. I won't lose for a week or two and then within a
week 5 lbs could be gone. Is this at all unusual? I'm not bothered by
it but I wonder if this is something that others experience.

Thanks!

Not unusual at all. Weight loss is never linear.  There are so
many factors: your body's resistance, the amount of water and
salt at any given time, what's in your digestion, fat vs. lean
muscle, phase of the moon and so on.

Sounds normal to me. It took about 2 months for me to drop from size 12 to
10, but it seemed like overnight I went to an 8. I seem stalled for now, but
that's fine with me; I was worried I lost too much too quickly at one point.
Also being women, we seem to have that 'monthly' thing to compensate for as
well, and I know for me I don't get NEAR the scale during that time.

I also give myself days where it's OK to eat whatever- but not all day, a
meal at most- like for instance, I went to my BF's folks for a Sunday supper
which consisted of a VERY home cooked meal. It was fabulous! I didn't punish
myself for it today and I'm not changing anything I'm eating to compensate
for it. I'm going to get back on my bike tonight and ride just like I would
any Monday. :)
