tonight I ventured out via bike to head to the gym.   The afternoon tstorms
appeared that they'd pass by us tonight.    When I got down the road a
couple miles I came out on an open field that gave me a better view of the
skyline and it looked very ominous.   The winds were blowing from all
directions - sea beeze from both east and west were meeting up right
overhead, I had a headwind no matter where I rode.   So, instead of getting
stuck at the Y, I turned back and rode home.   I still got my 20 min, 4.5
mile ride in.   I grabbed my keys and headed for the Y for a weight workout.

It did sprinkle a bit while I was in the gym.   Chatted with this one woman
a bit who was dissapointed as she hasn't been able to swim all week as the
pools closed in the rain/storms.

Came home and took the dog for a walk.

GOOD NEWS!   I ventured a jog with the dog.   First few steps were a bit
ruff on the knee until I found my groove.   I did a half mile run before I
gave in and decided not to overdo the knee.    The knee reminds me its
there - but it is getting better.   I'm always very careful on it.

And then the honesty....

Today's food intake:
Breakfast - 1 piece of carrot cake (corner piece, double the creamchees
frosting) and a scoop of Edy's butter pecan icecream.  (birthday celebration
at work).   I'd kinda planned for that today.

Lunch:  <hangs head in shame>   Same as above.

Snack:  a couple mindless eating peppermint paddies.

Don't ask....   Funny thing is, I wasn't hungry at lunch - as the cake from
the late (10am) breakfast was still keeping me satisfied.   I ate anyway,
and on top of it, right after the sugar spike made me feel nauseous.   I had
plenty of other options, but..  well...  we all have our days. <shrug>

So, calorie wise I'm ok.   But its all been crap food.   shame on me.
maybe I'll do a protein only day tomorrow to make up for the carb only day
today.   even it out, so to speak.   :-)

I hear ya bro. I didn't realize the magnitude of my scope until I
started keeping charts of my habbits and realized I was consuming
6-7000 calories per day... all I can say is thank god I have good
genes and I'm young enough to change.

Anyway, cake and icecream for breakfast... is not only unhealthy, it's
also dangerous because it's the first meal of the day and elevates
your bloodsugar to astronomic levels :-\

I consumed a lot of calories, but what saved me was I ate food between
the crap :-)

Yeah, we all have our days.  So yesterday wasn't the best one
nutrition-wise but overall -- I mean in the big scheme of things --
you'll be fine.  On top of that, you *did* make it to the gym ;-)

What jmk said.

Having cake and ice cream for breakfast once in a while isn't going to
destroy your WOL.

And you exercised! That's fab!

Oh, I know it won't, which is why I wasn't really hard on myself.   But lets
get it right...  it was cake and ice cream for breakfast and AGAIN at
lunch...  (and I skipped dinner)...   :-)
