Well, at least I'll takeit as a compliment.
Tonight I went grocery shopping to get our needs for the week. Standing in
line at checkout and loading my contents onto the belt, I reach over to get
the separater for the woman standing behind me. I knew someone was right
there, so I was being curtious to hand her the thing.
She says "oh, no honey, I'm not ready for that, I'm just admiring your food
and think I want to come eat at your house. You put my frozen veggies and
boxed food items to shame."
:-)
My cart was loaded with fresh fruits and veggies and salad mix, some meat
(turkey, steak and chicken), soy crisp snacks, fruit juices for drinks, rye
bread, blah, blah... typical food for me, oh, and since I was hungry, I got
a container of icecream, some fresh baked cookies, and 1/2 keylime pie for
DH (father's day treat).
The woman was in her mid/late 50's and she commented on how nice it was to
see a young person eating so healthy and that everything I picked really
looked good too. (oh, and I'm 32, almost 33, but commonly mistaken for
young 20's, especially when I'm not wearing makeup or hair not done, like
tonight as we'd just come off a day of diving and boating
:)
I take all that as a compliment.

Well, you DO only look in your 20's! And right now, I think I wish I was
eating at your house too! I just got back from camping, and I downed a warm
protein shake from the can - now I'm ready to crash into bed....

I'd take it as a compliment, too. I often run into my doctor at my grocery.
On one occasion he and his wife stopped to talk to me. I noticed he was
looking at what I had in the grocery cart. He turned to his wife and said
"She eats healthier than we do".

well, not necessarily. We are good friends with a cardiologist...
let me tell you - we eat healthier than he does, and our lifestyles
are healthier as well. :)

My doctor wouldn't fall into the same category as your friend. Mine is very
health conscious. He probably doesn't have an ounce of fat on him and he
and his wife are very active.

Oh, our friend isn't fat either, Neither is his wife. He is also
pretty active, between tennis w/ DH, and boating (waterskiing, etc)...
hits the gym at least 3 times a week, etc
But he was admitting that he hasn't had his cholesterol checked in
years, hasn't even had blood pressure checked. Hell, he's surrounded
by all the necessary equipment to do whatever.
His eating habits aren't the greatest either. Not that its all junk
and crap, but it isn't necessarily the most health conscious.

It's great to have that kind of feedback :)

A very nice compliment! I must admit I cannot resist looking in people's carts. I'm
always amazed by the lack of fresh foods. Nothing but packaged crap and junk food and
pop for the most part.
