No I haven't walked 60 miles this weekend :)  Since I don't do a lot of
walking I said I would bike 50 miles this weekend instead.

Friday I ran most errands on the bike for a total of 15 miles - all roads.

Saturday morning I did the "Bike for the Health of It" ride with the
granddaughter.  This was one of the shorter rides - 10 miles.  The
granddaughter decided she didn't want to join me on another ride Saturday
afternoon so I took off by myself.  I decided to start on one of the local
trails and ride to my hometown.  I probably could have gone a few more miles
but I spent too much time talking to friends and relatives.  Total for the
afternoon ride was 35 miles.

I'm joining another bike patrolman this morning for some more riding.  We
normally don't rack up a lot of miles on these rides as we spend a lot of
time talking to people we meet on the trails.  The front thigh muscles are
slightly sore this morning so I won't be pushing it today.  I think this is
from using the clipless pedals on the afternoon ride.  It's the first time
I've used them for any extended period of time.  I felt like I was using
different leg muscles with them.

My grand total for the weekend was 84 miles.  Too bad I didn't have enough
time to make it an even 100.....

84 miles is great! I'm certainly impressed -- good work!

Thanks.  Amazingly my bottom doesn't hurt one bit this morning.  Those
biking shorts do make a difference.  I do have minor soreness in the front
thigh muscles but I think that's from using the clipless pedals much more
than usual. I find I use slightly different leg muscles with them.
