Just had to share this little goal. My wife, our son, & I live on a corner lot and the yard is a city lot & 1/2. Our grass takes up a good portion of the lot and is a bear to mow(we have only a power mower, no riding...sometime I wish...). Years past I could only do about 1/2 and my wife would have to take over, even then it took me about 1 1/2 hrs. I mowed the entire thing once or twice since we lived in the house and it took me a little over 3 hours because I had to keep stopping and resting.
Last night I mowed the entire lawn myself in a little over 1 1/2 hrs! I was a little dehydrated, but was happy that I could do it myself. Call it 'man-pride', but it felt good to be able to do that! My wife was a bit PO'd, but I think she was concerned about me passing out or something by pushing myself too far.
Anyway, just another goal achieved....
Thanks guys for all your support!

WTG Matty. I hate mowing the yard. I love to work in the flowers and garden but the grass I leave for the granddaughters to mow - they need exercise, too<g>
How about putting a water bottle where you can grab a drink while mowing. You don't want to become dehydrated out there.

Good for you, Matty! This is the kind of subtle life-style
improvement that's so important -- really matter more than
accomplishments in the gym and such. And I know it will get a little
easier each time you do it!

Yay, Matty! I think it's just wonderful that you not only were able to
do it, but that you recognized the value of it.
I've set little lifestyle goals like that all along, too. They just
keep coming.
I recall one of them being to be able to cross my legs. It's such a
little thing, the way slender women can cross their legs. But fat women
just can't manage it and have to sit with either their knees
uncomfortably pulled prissily together or leaned back with ankles
crossed or sitting with thighs splayed open. I envied the ability to
cross legs. And now I can!
My hope for you is that you get to experience lots of these little
goals. Spot them when they come, enjoy them, and then set new goals. :-)

Way to go, Matty! As others said, keep drinking water while you mow -- staying
hydrated is important! It's great to reclaim your health, isn't it -- it's wonderful
when you achieve something like this that you may have been able to do in the "old
days" but not in the recent past. It is like regaining part of your youth. Just keep
taking things one day at a time and you soon will add more to the list of things that
you can now do. Congratulations!

It is great to reach the life style goals!!! I have a couple set myself, and it just feels so good to be approaching them and noticing the differences as they come closer! Congrats!!! Do be sure to get plenty of water while you mow, however!
