Zippy1515 - 13 Jul 2004 04:14 GMT For about the last year and a half, on occasion I have had these open sores appear on the back of my thighs. They generally start out as pimples, then open up. My concern is that they take so long to heal. Does anyone know what they are, what causes them, and how to get rid of them? I am 300+ lbs. and other than this am in good health. Thank you.

The festering sores you have are called trolls, especially the one who reposted this message.

Patty, thanks for the opening so I can tell our new arrivals a few things about this group.
First of all, most of us don't top-post. (Wave to Perple.) It makes it harder to follow up points in a discussion if you have to scroll to the bottom to see what people were replying to. It's really established netiquette to reply at the bottom of the post. (I'm not the net police and I'm only saying this because maybe Carolyn and others haven't heard it before, not because it traumatized me or anything.)
Second of all, be very, very, very careful about cross-posting. I only cross-post when I participate in both groups, and even then it's probably better to just post the same post twice.
Thirdly, ANYTHING CROSS-POSTED TO FAT-ACCEPTANCE is a troll. All of it. There is just NO CROSS CONVERSATION between these groups. If there really is a Zippy and he or she really does have open sores from being fat, then this thread is designed to make fun of Zippy. I assure you that anything cross-posted to fat-acceptance needs to go straight in the kill-file.
I've gone and read this group in google and it's almost unreadable, what with cross-posting from trolls and spam messages and Mu_n blathering on about 2 pound diets... It's so much easier to read it when you've got a good kill-file built up through the years. The gems emerge from the dirt.

LOL I don't care where people post, as long as they snip the irrelevant parts so someone has a clear context of what is going on in the conversation ;-)
Too many people will quote a 500 line post in its entirety, and in a superior "tone" proclaim "It's standard usenet protocol to post at the bottom!", completely ignoring that it's ALSO standard usenet protocol to give the post a good ole haircut.

But it's not my Cause of the Week. Really. Even though this is my second post on this. I *do* realize that I don't get to set the rules for the world. (Wave to Martha.)

I totally agree with this and had to go check my post to make sure I snipped! It'd be like the usenet rule about spelling flames, i.e., that every spelling flame has its own grammatical or spelling error in it.

What really made bottom posting cease to be a scrolling adventure to me was finding out that the space bar will page down in the 3 different newsreaders I've used. It's easy to get there <s>

I have since mended my ways with Agent.
Let's put it this way, it's an easier habit to break than not eating breakfast was...

And the comment about Patricia... oh, nevermind, I can't come up with nice words ...
But, just wanted to comment that I didn't realize Mu was still posting... its so nice to have finally gotten a good filtering mechanism... :)

So if he's here, then my KF must have finally caught up to all his aliases.

Thank you. greetings zippy i have , in the past had your problem. i can only tell you what i did. the pimples i had were boils, and appeared under my arms and where the fat rolled tightly at the sides of my knee area. first i got the pimple, which broke and drained and left a dark red/purple hole which took a while to fill in and heal. these sometimes reappeared, most doctors call them cysts and will recommend removal of the sac inside to keep them from comming back. skin rubbubg on skin and sweating in this area are the mix that gets them started. they are a kind of staff bacteria according to my doc. and happen wherever you rub skin. waist bands, skin folds, chair edges etc etc. they can be dangerous if drainage goes inside, you should see a dr. because in most cases putting things on or bandaging is not easy ar recommended. i am unable to prevent them in some areas but use a cotton cloth roll tucked under my belly flap every day to keep the crease dry any off of itself and that works there. elevate my leg when i get one there to keep from having it turn to an ulsor and keep dry thats key wet, dark and friction causes it.
