Hey all

I know, it's been a long time. Just been way too busy. Getting ready for
this trip to Amsterdam, got my heart broken a couple of times, and am
frantically trying to find someone willing to sell me a Bally's membership
for under a couple of hundred (there's a few on eBay, but I just never win
those last minute bidding crunches.) Had to quit walking at the mall before
work. I was getting way to sweated up, and there's just so much cleaning up
you can do in a small office bathroom.

A little while ago, a couple of you volunteered to help me learn how to use
this new Outlook Express. I need help. I admit it, I've become a real news
group junkie. I'm subscribed to about 40 of them, and a few of the binary
ones get well over 2000 posts a day. This, of course, means many, many hours
of sitting here downloading these binaries one at a time, and since I use
dial up, that means many, many, many MANY hours of sitting here. It would be
so much better if I can just go through the headers, pick what I want, and
get the machine working on downloading them all so I can actually go to bed
and sleep at night.

I've been trying to figure out how to do this off line, but the "help" file
isn't very helpful. Could someone please email me and give me some "Push
THIS button, dummy" instructions on how to do this? I sure would appreciate
it.

See y'all later

Good to hear from you Smokey.  I can't help with the tech. stuff, I
have someone who does all this for me.  I'm interested in your trip to
Amsterdam though.    It's a city I love - only about an hour's flight
for us from London.  Have you been before?  Do tell:)

I've never been there before, but I HAVE been to London. This was back in
the 60's, before you folks changed your monetary system. I'm going to see
what I can do about talking the rest of my party into a side trip there. It
doesn't seem to be too far by rail, and we'd all like to see this famous
Chunnel of yours (personally, I'd rather go by hovercraft, but I'm only one
vote.) One of the guys wants to check out Paris, but I've been there too. It
was dirty and unfriendly then, I can't imagine it improving too much in the
last 40 years. Good cheese, though.

Finally got a match from Eharmony, now I just have to come up with the 50
bucks to proceed with the introduction process (sure SOUNDS like
prostitution, doesn't it?) Just hope I don't get hurt by this one too.

Hey, sorry I missed you in the 60s, but I didn't even live in London
then anyway.  Now, as I expect you know, we are different again with
our money as we haven't embraced the Euro.

I've been all round Holland and it's a lovely country.  I'm sure
you'll love Amsterdam - it's a beautiful city.

Good luck with the intro - keep us posted.

Yes, but at least it's Pounds and Shillings. You don't have cashiers telling
you "That'll be 14, 2 and 7, Gov'ner"   I remember one place right off of
Picadilly called TopoGigio's. They had the best lasagna, better than I had
in Rome. Sure wish I could stretch this out another week or two. Hey, how
would like a house guest for a couple of weeks?  ;-]

As an enthusiast of architecture, I'm really looking forward to it. I just
hope the canals aren't iced over then. The guide book says that's the best
way of seeing the city.

Sadly, I had to pass on that. Between saving for this trip, and dipping into
that fund to pay for this Bally's membership (providing I can luck into one
in my price range,) money's a little too tight for that right now. Wish I
could swing it, but for now, I'll just have to wait for Destiny to step in.

Have a happy...

Psst!!!! Every place changes in 40 years!!!

Paris is a wonderful city, filled with art, lovely streets and many, many
things to do. Sure, there's wonderful food and farmers' markets, but I
walked so much that I lost weight. The cemeteries are cool too, I mean, who
wouldn't want to visit Jim Morrison's grave? That was a highlight for me.

Europe is a wonderful place, even if they do smoke too much.

Watch out for the dog poop in A'dam, it's everywhere. And for goodness sake,
do NOT walk in the bike lanes!

Prostitution indeed...not worth it...
http://datefreenow.com and other free sites are more interesting to me
- you don't have to pay to to just say hello.

Thanks. I'm usually here, just being the strong, silent type, as usual. ;-]
