Wow, what a week.  First, I've lost 6.4 pounds in the last seven days!  I
might bounce back up a bit tomorrow but I still find it incredible!  That's
the biggest weekly loss I've had so far.  Only thing I can think I'm doing
differently is making sure I have enough skim milk, yesterday I drank three
12-ounce glasses of milk.

The other news is that I interviewed with Weight Watchers and I'll be
working for them again, as a leader!  I was a leader with WW about ten years
ago but had to leave because of other commitments.  I really loved working
for WW and am glad I can do so, again.  The Territory Manager remembered me
and did not hesitate at all offering me the job.  The TM wants me as a
leader for At-Work meetings and that suits me just fine.  I'll have to go
through all the training again but it should be fun.  Its also a very good
excuse to buy new clothes.

I also interviewed for a job as part-time bookkeeper for a church and
yesterday I found out I'm one of three who will be called back for a second
interview.  Yippee!  I may be gainfully employed again!

Looking at my weekly statistics (below) I see I need to reduce my fat
calories and bump up my protein a bit, but everything is within the limits
I've set for myself.  That may change, though, after my first class tonight
with the diabetic nutritionalist.  I have a ton of questions I want
answered, and with two 2.5 hour sessions I expect to get a lot of
information.

All in all it has been a terrific week.

Doesn't the idea of losing 6lbs in a week scare you?   That's a great
deal of weight to lose so quickly.

Granted, 3 glasses of skim milk is about 400 calories.  so it depends
on what else you eat.

The math on that forumla works out to be a calorie deficit of over
3000 calories per day.   That just isn't making much sense.

No, it doesn't scare me.  Now, if I lost 6 pounds/week for 2 weeks in a row
and wasn't fasting it would concern me.

You're assuming all the weight loss is from caloric deficit.  Perhaps I had
been retaining water, or had a full digestive system, or exercised much more
this week than last, or any number of other things, including the change of
more of my carbs coming from milk than from prunes meaning less food bulk.
My average loss for the last four weeks is 2.83 pounds/week (1.3 on 29 Jun,
2.6 on 6 Jul, 1.0 on 13 Jul, and 6.4 today), which is consistent with my
overall progress since January of 2.82 pounds/week.

This spring when I was concerned about making weight for a lifting
meet, I spent 6 days cutting back a little bit on what I ate, but
cutting back dramatically on sodium.  I lost 7 lbs. in those 6 days.
It surprised me (as all I really needed to do was be sure I didn't
weigh any more than at the start of the week), but I knew it was water
weight and didn't worry about it.  (And I was, overall, losing at just
over 1 pound/week, much slower than Dewolla.)
