I haven't measured at Curves for almost two months. I haven't been
concentrating on weight loss recently due to job stress and a terrible bout
of sinus infection and allergies that curtailed all activities for a couple
of weeks. Tonight I decided to bite the bullet and do the weight and
measure routine. It was better than I had expected. I haven't lost one
inch anywhere, gained 1/4 pound but lost 1.2% BF! I was rather pleased with
that result.
They're currently having a monthly challenge and I decided to join it. My
goal for this month is to lose 3 pounds. It's back to journaling in fitday,
Curves workout 3 times a week and add more exercise at home. Maybe I'll
even be able to get that bosu ball out. It's still sitting in the garage in
the box. I've been busy painting the last couple of weeks but I hope to be
done with that chore this weekend.
Here's hoping I meet my goal this month.

That is great about the BF, Beverly. Don't worry too much about having to
take off a few weeks due to sickness. Just get back on that horse and ride
it!

I just got home from my workout after 3 days off because I'm getting
the-crud-that's-going-around. (I did make it there 3 times this week.)
My location is doing "incentive month": for each visit, you get a "Curves
buck." Three visits in one week: 5 extra. Lose 3 pounds, 5 extra. Lose 3", 5
extra and so on. At the end of the month, there's to be a "silent /Chinese
auction of "curves gear " and other goodies.
Frankly, there's nothing that I want to "win," but I'd like to pile up the
bucks. <g>

Good luck with your goal! Hope your allergies fade away, as well. I will
admit that I felt much better after working out today. Seemed to sweat some
of the cold right out of my body. In any event, you certainly must have
developed some good habits that stuck with you if over two months of not
concentrating you only gained 1/4 lb! I know I could do that in 10 minutes.

The weather has finally turned colder and the allergies are on the mend.
After all these years I think I have the eating under control. I haven't
overdosed on ice cream for ages and the vending machines no longer call my
name.
I was able to workout three times this week and feel much better.

Ice cream was/is my downfall as far as sweets go. DH does the dishing (and
he's inclined to fill a cereal bowl. Now, I have him give me "one small
scoop" (and that, less than once a week). He can afford a bowlful, I can't!

I never bring ice cream home unless the granddaughters are over for the
weekend. Then I only buy enough for each of us to have a dish. We've
started popping corn instead of indulging in ice cream lately.
There's an ice cream shop on one of the local bicycle trails. Sometimes we
include a stop there on our rides but they don't carry my flavor trigger,
Cordial Cherry, so I often skip it. The longer I stay away from it the less
I crave it.

I find the craving pretty much gone as well. I was a dish a night ice cream
eater. Breyer's Cherry Vanilla is my trigger. It's the only "lumpy" falvor I
like. DH likes Rocky Road and Moose Tracks and all those chock-full-of-stuff
kinds. The freezer could be full of them and I could resist, no problem.
Heck, I think it is!

Hope your allergies are clearing up with the winter approaching! You should
be really pleased that you were able to maintain your weight without really
concentrating. The bf% change is cool :) Enjoy the challenge. Ours isn't
doing one this month, they're starting some kind of contest in December.

We had some unusually warm weather the last couple of weeks but it's finally
getting back to normal November weather. My allergies should calm down with
the first hard freeze. My grandaughters and I took a bike ride during the
nice weather and by the time I returned home my sinuses were on fire and it
was all downhill from that point.
Our Curves has challenges setup for the next three months. We can earn
'Curve bucks' for different things such as losing a few pounds or inches,
working out 3 times a week, etc. Hopefully it will get me into losing mode
again. Winter has never been an easy time for me to lose weight but I'm
planning on changing that trend this year.

That's what we're doing starting next month. I saw the asst. mgr. sorting
out the old curves bucks the other day. Things are kind of messed up
because the mgr. is going to be on indefinite medical leave so she was
trying to get everything sorted out for the asst. and the techs. S'ok, I
just go to work out. I've already won a lot of contests there so I don't
participate in them as actively.

Thanks. I was really pleased with the BF change. It's becoming more
important than actual weight loss as I near my goal.

It's great that you are joining the challenge, Beverly! With journaling and exercise,
3 lbs sounds like a goal you can reach this month -- good luck to you!

Thanks. They're having monthly challenges for the next three months.
Hopefully I can set and reach some each month.

Thanks. I spent the better part of this evening clearing out the
exercise/sewing room. It had become a dumping ground for things that didn't
have a home. Hopefully I now have the floor space for the bosu ball. Maybe
I'll get it out tomorrow if we can finish the painting in the rental unit.
My ex son-in-law is up from South Carolina this weekend and he has been
helping.
