Turned out to be 11.5%.

Seems awfully low to me, perhaps I messed something up.

You said that you were at the top of the normal weight, you also have said
you are in decent shape, and that your weight loss is maybe 1 lb a month.  I
imagine that it's not that far from the truth...  +/-2%, if the measurement
was done correctly.

Hi Daniel, a better, more careful measurement gives 17%, which is more
believable. Thanks for your post.

Redid it more carefully this morning, turned out to be 17%.

Who took the measurments?
Which method did you use?
3 site or 7 site?
which calculations method did you use?

I used 3 site and the rustyiron calculator. Scratch my first number,
the real one is 17%. I just did it more carefully.

And how did you take the tricep measurement by yourself?

there is no tricep measurement in the 3 site method. breast, stomach
and thing are the only three measurements.

Oh, I guess its tricep for women then.  :)

One thing to consider - since you've never had a pro do this on you,
something I learned is that us "ammatures" might 1.  not grab enough
skin.  2.  Might not pull the fat away from the muscle.  3.  Might
squish the fat too much in the measuring process.

Right. I have very little faith in the number that I calculated using
calipers. My digital scale gives me 19% bodyfat. But it warns that in
people with resting pulse under 60 (whom they call athletes) the
result is not accurate. My resting pulse is 54-56 due to a lifetime of
running and (now) walking. I do not consider myself truly an athlete
but maybe the scale does not give me an accurate number either.

Um, hate to ask, but what "thing" are you measuring?

Who Me? I'm as innocent as a lamb. I was curious, though...

You know, if this were the truth...

The average man would claim a higher bf%, but the statistics would
definately be lower.

Couldn't pass it up...
