It's time for that annual trip to Florida to see the Florida State High
School wrestling tournament. My nephew is the head coach for Oviedo HS and
we're hoping for their second state championship this year.

It will be nice to get away from the cold here in Ohio for a few days. I
doubt there will be much exercise as I'll be spending most of the time
sitting on those hard bleachers. I would use the exercise room at the hotel
but it's usually crowded with the high school boys in the evenings. Last
year we took some breaks and walked around the sports center in Lakeland.
A friend is coming in from Arizona and I'm going to pick his brain on tips
for training for the bike century this summer. He did the Ironman in Hawaii
for his 50th birthday and IIRC the bike portion for that is 112 miles.
See you next week.

Have a great trip, Beverly! I'm off to Lake Tahoe this morning for some
awesome skiing. There's plenty of fresh snow and hopefully, I'll find
lots of powder!
btw, it's my birthday tonight, so in honor of that, everyone take the
day off work! heh heh....wouldn't that go over great with your bosses?
;)

But Martha said I could :)
Actually today would be a perfect day to have off for some hiking. There is
a light rain off and on, the wildflowers are in bloom, and the sky is
overcast. Good day for taking pictures.
Happy b-day and happy skiing!

It's always good to be back home. I'm happy to report the team is
again the Florida State 3A wrestling champions! They took 10 members
to the tournament and 9 of them placed. They outscored the second
place team by 60+ points. They're a great bunch of kids and I always
look forward to seeing them each year.
Now it's time to get back into exercise. The only thing I did that
could be considered exercise was climb the steps in the stadium <g> At
least I found running up and down the steps was easier since I've been
upping the running on the treadmill. I saw a few cars with bikes on
the back and really hated I didn't have time for a ride :(
Eating wasn't too bad since we only had time for breakfast and a late
dinner. Lunch usually consisted of an energy bar or a bag of popcorn
followed by a few bottles of water to compensate for all the salt. It's
been a long time since I ate stadium popcorn and I had forgotten how
salty it is.

It's great you had a good trip and that the championship went well.
Skiing was incredible last week, as was sitting in the cabin's hot tub
on a mountain peak overlooking the full moon, the stars and pine trees.
:D

I know, poor me...but somebody's gotta do it. My quads never felt so
good, I tell ya.

That seemed like a short trip! I wasn't expecting you back so soon but I'm
glad you had a wonderful time.
I'm waiting on this nor'easter!

It was one of those fly down, attend tournament and fly home trips. I
have another vacation planned in April and didn't want to use any
additional vacation time. I'm going to watch Lance Armstrong race in
the Tour de Georgia in April and then do some biking on the Silver
Comet bike trail near Atlanta.
We're getting some snow right now but they're not predicting too much
accumulation. I'm ready for spring!

How much snow did you end up getting? We only got 6" this weekend though we
were expecting 10-12. It's been constant on and off lake effect since then
so it's added to the total. The snowshoeing has been fabulous so far.

I'm guessing we got over ten inches - woo hoo! We've got a picnic style
bench out back on the ledges and it's buried. I couldn't resist going
out this morning even though it was still blowing sideways. I wanted to
use the snow *first*! I heard someone at the post office mention the
word rain so I'll be right back out in the morning to make the most of
it. There hasn't been this much snow since I moved here in '97.
I'm loving it. :-)
