Hi everyone. I'm Louise and I just started weight watchers on Tuesday.
Due to money issues, I'll probably only attend the first 10 weeks,
then go it alone. I thought I'd check you all out for support! I'm 24
(almost 25) and live in Seattle. I exercise by walking several times
per week but need to increase that too and maybe adding weights at some
point too? I'm 5'8" and have a pretty large frame.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself! I'll be back :)
181.5/181.5 (current)/175 (mini goal)/155
I hope I did that right!!

Hi Louise! Congratulations on starting to change your life. Weight
Watchers works. So does walking! I lost almost 100 pounds with walking
as my primary exercise. I like it so well that even now that I'm
maintaining, I walk almost 5 miles every day.
Keep posting and let us know how you're doing.

Sorry for the late welcome. I've been out of town.
You're off to a great start. I've been a WW lifetime member since '84
and know the program works. Walking is a great exercise but don't wait
too long to add the weight workouts.
Welcome

26lbs is pretty doable, you've only got 15% of your body mass to lose.
My sister was on weight watchers and it worked for her, but IMV the
point system she was on over-penalized healthy fats like almonds, which
have an excellent fat profile to keep you healthy, and just a 1oz
serving really filled me up as a mid-day snack.
I didn't do low-carb per se but found their advice to limit junk carbs
to leave more calories for more filling fat and proteins to be a very
workable approach.
High-carb dieting, like what weight watchers' plan produces, leads to
unnecessary hunger and deprivation IMV. Cut the carbs down to 30-40% of
the calories, split the rest between protein and healthier unsaturated
nut and fish fats... worked for me. WW may have changed this now.
My main advice is don't try to lose all the weight in one week. Just
take each week as it comes, building good diet habits that you will
need even after you hit your end goal. My sister went off the point
system, started drinking cokes again, and gained half her loss back
before she caught herself.
