I'm using FitDay to log my food, and its database doesn't have most of the
brands I use (since I'm in Italy).
I tried googling for the specific brands but didn't find what I needed
(found info on the food, but not the nutritional info, mainly carb count).
If someone has a link to a database where I can enter the specific brand &
type of food and get the calorie/fat/carb/protein count, please share!

Have you tried Calorie King (http://www.calorieking.com/)?  It's
probably pretty US-centric as well but maybe you'll have more luck with
that...

Have you had any luck going to the manufacturers websites and viewing
nutritional info?

I know that US products (and those they also sell over seas) often post
their nutritional info on their websites (nabisco, hershey, etc).  This
won't give you a database, but it will give you the facts to enter into
fitday.

I know that not all countries require as much nutritional info on packaging
as the do here in the states.  I also know that some countries require more
info, so I'm not saying the US is perfect in any matter.   But, I don't
know how it is in Italy or other European countries with their imports.
But a good place to start would be the manufacturing company.

If their websites don't offer info, find a consumer email or phone number
and contact them asking for that info.

I did that - they only have nutritional info in general (i.e. ingredients),
but not the specifics I needed (calorie/carb/fat/protein counts). I wrote
them an e-mail asking them for the info. If they don't reply, my only hope
is to enter the ingredients into FitDay and create the "new custom food"
entry myself.

It's great with some products, and worse with others. Some have it on the
packages, some on their website, some don't offer any info.

I tried the Calorie King like jmk suggested - no luck there, either.

www.weightlossresources.co.uk is also not going to match Italian brands but
it might have some that match.
