Another day working in New Jersey.

Food:

* 7:15 (hotel room -- brought my egg cooker): 2 soft-boiled eggs w/ 1
oz. melted f/f cheese & 1 slice whole wheat bread
* 10:00 (meeting, brought with me): energy bar
* 1:00 (meeting, fixed in hotel and brought with me): salad w/ 1 cup
greens, a few chunks each of broccoli, cauliflower, tomato, mushrooms,
celery, cucumber, 1/3 cup pineapple, 2.4 oz. turkey breast, 1 oz.
shredded f/f cheese, 3 tbs f/f ginger/soy vinaigrette
* 4:00 (meeting, brought with me): 1/2 apple (wasn't very good --
didn't finish it)
* 8:00 (hotel room -- brought my GF grill): 4 oz. turkey burger on
whole wheat English muffin w/ 3 (smaller than usual) slices f/f cheese,
dill pickles, and catsup
* 10:30 (hotel room): 1 oz. mixed nuts

Exercise:

12:00 -- 3.5 mile brisk walk  (Kind of wanted to do a treadmill run at
the hotel last night, but was too tired and hungry by the time I got
back.  Tonight will probably be a later night for working.  Hope to get
out at lunch, though there's a very cold wind.)

So, I'm feeling pleased with myself because I went out at lunchtime and
ran for a couple of miles -- not sure how far exactly, but I ran all
the way with no walking breaks, which makes it my longest continuous
outdoor run.  It's beautifully sunny, but with strong and cold winds,
but that was mostly noticeable when I was running into it.

I'm the only person on this audit team who doesn't work through lunch,
but I don't think anyone really minds (or I hope not, anyway).  I'm
also the only one who doesn't participate in the daily group order from
a local sandwich shop.  Brought a nice salad with grilled salmon in it
today, and ate it after my run.

Wow!!  Taking  your machines with you really is dedicated!  Most impressive!

I suspect the hotel probably has a gym...
Chris - 02 Mar 2005 21:37 GMT
Yeah, it does -- a couple of treadmills and one of those all-in-one
weight machines.  I've been too tired by the time I get in in the
evenings to use it, though.  The work days are long and the work is
very detail-oriented and hence tiring, and afterward I tend to go buy
food for my in-room cooking :-).

I assume you mean the egg cooker and the grill? But when I first read this I
thought you were talking about the treadmill and got a good laugh; that
would be dedication. I rather like the image of a car traveling down the
highway with a treadmill strapped to the top :)

Actually, I thought the same thing, since the reply was right after the
'excercise' bit of the post, where she went on about treadmills... LOL :-)

So did I, for a moment :-).

LOL I remember purchasing my treadmill in NY during one of my visits.
The guy brought it out of the store, looked sorrowfully at my van and
said "It won't fit"  I smiled and told him "Sure it will"  After a little
back & forth and me suggesting he might like his boss to help him load it
into my van, he finally did put it in, I closed the door and drove off
happily. It fit easily even with all my other *stuff*.
