Food & Exercise -- 3/7/2005

Food:

* 8:15 (driving to gym): ready-to-drink chocolate protein shake
* 10:45 (work, brought from home): 2 hard-boiled eggs
* 12:30 (work, brought from home): salad w/ 1 cup mixed greens,
several pieces each of broccoli, cauliflower, celery, grape tomatoes,
and strawberries, 95g grilled chicken breast, 3 tbsp f/f balsamic
vinaigrette
* 3:00 (work, brought from home): energy bar
* 5:00 (work, brought from home): apple
* 7:45 (home): 180g grilled salmon; 1 1/2 cups steamed cauliflower
* 10:30 (home): snack-size peanut butter cup

Totals: 1369 calories, 39g fat (26%), 121g carbs (35%), 126g protein
(37%)  {Low calories again today, but I have a splurge dinner tomorrow
night so will make up for it.}

Exercise:

8:30 -- Upper body stuff:

* Partial chins: 2x5
* Machine-assisted pull-ups (parallel grip): 1x10x40; 1x5x20; 1x3x10
* Barbell bench: 1x15x45
* Decline barbell bench: 1x10x80
* Incline barbell bench: 1x12x60
* DB bench: 1x8x40s
* DB flyes: 1x10x30s
* DB seated shoulder press: 1x12x17.5s
* DB lateral and front raises, alternating: 1x8 (each) x 15s
* Standing overhead triceps extensions w/ EZ curl bar: 1x10x35
* DB curls: 1x10x20s

1:00 -- 4 mile brisk walk  {Today it was in the low 70s; tomorrow it
is supposed to snow.  Springtime in Washington!}

Congratz on maintaining.

Do you plan to continue to monitor calories indefinitely?   (Sounds like a
good idea, but it might be hard to stick with it.)

I don't know.  Maybe.  Part of the reason I do it, I think, is just
because I'm kind of into posting it here.  But I also fear letting my
intake creep up without being aware of it.  I don't find it onerous,
and I think it helps, so for now I plan to continue.
