Hi Folks!
It's been about 2 weeks since my last update. So, I figured
it was about time for another. I think that I've decided to
just post periodically instead of weekly, which is what I have
done in the past. I don't want to drive myself crazy with
figuring out what to post.
The past two weeks have been up and down. Fortuanately, they
have been more down than up. As of this morning, I'm now down
18 lbs from when I started 6 weeks ago. 3 lbs a week, given
that it's been a hectic and stressful couple weeks, is great.
My eating has been going well, but could use some more
restaint when it comes to eating out. Appetizers and desserts
are still a bit of a problem for me. At home, I'm generally
fine. Although, I need to restrain myself from buying junk
food, like Baked Lay and Baked Cheetos. Granted, not as bad
as their fried counterparts, but it's still too easy to down
the whole bag in one sitting.
Some good news on the water consumption front. My boss was
generous enough to purchase a water cooler for me. I asked
for it when I learned that my team would merge into a central
location in the next few months. So, I have exclusive use of
it in my little office until then. Unbeknowst to me, this
cooler had a mini refrigerator in it. So, now, I can also put
snack items like fruit and diet drinks down there. Naturally,
only to be used in a case of emergency! :)
Finally, on the exercise front, my back is starting to feel
better these days. It doesn't hurt as much, but the pain does
eventually show up. So, it's improving, albeit slowly.
I also went down to Apple Fitness today. They are an
authorized dealer of Lifefitness products. I asked them about
the seat issue. They said that they could order a different,
more comfortable seat for my 5500R. I said "Great! How
much?" My draw dropped when I heard $175 CDN! Needless to
say, maybe I'll sit on this one a bit! :)
Anyways, that's it for now. Looking forward to the upcoming
weeks.
Cheers!
Alex

This is great you've been able to continue a weight loss during
stressful times. For many of us these stressful times result in weight
gain.

Just keep working on these things, Alex. I'm one of those who doesn't
think you need to change everything at once. Small changes over a
period of time are fine.

This is great. I'm sure it will continue to improve as you lose
weight. My lower back has been a problem for me since a childhood
accident. When I stop the exercise I always notice the nagging pain
begins to appear again. Guess I'll just have to keep this exercise
going if I want to avoid it<g>

Wow! That's an expensive seat. Maybe those pillows will work just as
well.

Baked Cheetos? I didn't know these existed, but I'll pass for now.
Great job on the weight loss!
Matthew (Damn, how did the arms of my chair get all orange?)
