Panera Bread, a fast-growing chain that offers soups, salads and
sandwiches in
addition to bread, is also making changes to meet the evolving tastes of
its
customers. The company is testing three whole-grain breads with fewer
grams of
carbohydrates per slice.

Is that little soup and sandwich shop that serves soup in bowls made from
bread?  I have seen them in other cities but none in Louisiana.

yes, you can get their soups in breadbowls.  I usually opt for mine in
a regular cup/bowl instead.

A "low carb" bread is an oxymoron.  Whole grain is better than refined
grain, for carbs the wholegrain oatmeal may be the best choice.  150
cals per serving, 100 cals carbs - and it may also lower chol.
(besides it's cheap and yummy).

Yeah, from the description (whole-grain) I thought that they probably
were doing that "net carb" thing -- so basically, higher fiber.  That's
still good.  Otherwise, they could be using soy flour or something...
