Congrats on the running milestone!
If I ever get over this last bout of sinus problems I want to get back to
my running program. I was up to a 30 minute program of running one minute
and walking one.

Thanks! I learned to run using alternating programs liked that, and I
still like run/walk intervals to work on increasing my speed. I think
it's a great approach.
BTW, I may be coming to Dayton again in April -- will email you.

That sounds great. I'll be here except for April 18-24 when I'll be in
Georgia to watch Lance Armstrong race and do a little biking of my own on
the Silver Comet Trail near Atlanta.

Well, that's the week I'm scheduled to be there :-). I may get in on
the 17th. I'm not sure it will happen; the project may not be ready
for the audit yet. In any event, I'll probably be there again
sometime in the summer.

Well, that's a bummer. If you get in on the 17th maybe we could get
together for dinner or a walk along Riverscape downtown.

I'll let you know once our plans are made. If we are starting first
thing Monday I'll definitely travel on Sunday. Last time we started
after lunch on Monday so I was able to travel Monday morning.

Yep. That's a great way to improve your fitness without over-doing it.
Check out http://www.halhigdon.com/beginrunner/plan.htm. This is a
beginner's running program that I started with about 3000 miles and 80
pounds ago. ;-)

I used his plan a few years ago when I did my first running program. This
time I just decided to do the run/walk technique from the beginning. I had
to give up running back in 96 because the knees starting giving me problems.
I haven't had a problem this time. I really think the biking has helped
strengthen the legs overall.
Beverly - who didn't even hit 3000 miles on the bike last year!

I wouldn't doubt it. I've never had a knee problem. But I'm sitting here
right now with a bag of frozen mixed vegetables on my ankle suffering
from tibialis anterior tendon sheath inflammation and Boston is 4 weeks
away. ;-(

Thanks Beverly. If I maintain my training plan, then I've got one more week
before the weely mileage starts tapering off. I might start tapering a week
earlier just to be safe. Today it was painful just walking around at work.
I've been icing and deep tissue massaging periodically. Hopefully that will
help.
