I finally made it to the pool after several weeks of delay due to colds and
schedule conflicts etc! It was great! I went Wednesday night with my swim
buddy. We walked to the pool about 25 minutes I think it took. My back and
leg got really sore during the walk even though the walk was pretty flat (a
rarity in Nova Scotia!) and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to swim. I
took some ibuprofen when I got to the pool and it kicked in pretty quickly.
We swam for an hour, taking short breaks in between laps. I was sore for
the next few days and had some back spasms, but not too bad considering. It
was a lot of fun. We are going to go again on Monday and on Wednesday. I'm
very excited to have found something I can do!
I lost another 2lbs last weekend, but didn't have the chance to post. That
brought me to 20lbs lost in total. This morning I slept in -- the first
time in months -- my schedule was totally thrown off because of it and I
forgot to weigh myself. So I guess I'll have to do it tomorrow morning
instead. Hopefully I'll see some sort of loss. I'm getting closer and
closer to my mini goal and if things keep going as they have been, I might
even make the mini goal before the date I set -- not going to pressure
myself though.
Hope y'all had a good week!

Thanks Chris! It's great to find something that I enjoy and can physically
do. And if you remember my earlier post about the subject, I was
worried/embarrassed about wearing a swimsuit. I wore swim trunks and a
lycra top and admittedly was a little self conscious at first. After I got
into the pool I realized that there were people of all sizes there and
everyone was just doing their own thing. So I let it go and never thought
about it after that.

Thanks Rosie! I think this is going to work for me.
The shoes are fine -- well winter boots actually LOL -- the back pain is
from an injury suffered during a car accident.
