I think I lost too much lean body mass.
I don't have any professional way to measure, but:
(1) I can tell that I am maintaining this weight on between 1,500 and
1,600 calories a day. This is an amount low enough to affect my moods
and my functioning, if carried out long term.
(2) My sister, a Weight Watchers Lifetime Member and a size 8 who
really could hold her nose up in the air (by that I mean, why is she
still showing up at meetings and weighing in like a prizefighter when
she's been the same size since the year of the flood?) (And, though a
significant amount *to her*, she lost 25 pounds, she claims. She is
5'1-1/2" tall.) Anyway, my sister-o-meter tells me, "You don't look
like you're starving."
I swim laps and dance. Occasionally weight train. Not in any
systematic fashion. I feel reasonably strong. But this is in
contrast to my lifestyle, which otherwise is decidedly couch potato,
as it has been much of my life.
Objectively, my BMI calculated is 24. This is where I want it to be.
I do not think BMI is an accurate measure in someone who maintains
practically all of their lean body mass, particularly if it had been
significant to begin with.

A healthy bodyfat % for women is like 20-24%. I'd suggest going to a gym or
other facility that offers caliper testing and find out where you're at.

Hiya Tina,
Great job! The best way to determine lean body mass is to be weighed
underwater (cost about $200). A simple test, tho, can you pinch more
than an inch of flesh under your tricep? My wife, who's not heavy, is
still flabby with about 1 1/2 inches of pinch under her tricep. She
now needs firmness, her wieght is fine. My skinfold under my triceps
is 1/4 inch - however I have over an inch around my belly (typical
male distribution).
