Hi everybody!  Don't know if you remember me or not, but I was here for
a while, then kind of got away from the group lately for various reasons
(time, etc.).  I still won't have a lot of time to spend here, but I'll
skim the subject lines every once in a while and check it out when
there's something that looks interesting.  I've missed having contact
with this great group!

As for my WOE (eating what I want in moderation), after struggling for a
little while with wanting to eat more than my body hunger called for,
I'm back on track and have now lost a total of 69 lbs.!  Been reading
the wonderful book "Thin Within" which basically teaches the "eating all
things in moderation" philosphy from a Christian perspective.  Highly
recommended.

Hope everybody's doing well, glad to be back, albeit in a limited
capacity!

This Wendy is not the Wendy that you last saw here.

Actually, I don't know who this Wendy is.  Wendy, could you please give
us a thumbnail sketch of who you are?  I may have given up the name but
I still want people to know who I am.  :-)

Thanks,

Delenn

I remember you, I even wondered about you. So, you lost about 15% of
your body weight, that's great.

I like your journal & what you say about 'eating everything in moderation',
you must be doing something right to have lost that much, keep it up!

M-C, glad to hear you're doing so well!  I haven't heard of the book
you mentioned -- sounds interesting.  Clearly it's working for you.

Welcome back.  I lurk here as much as time allows, and post
occasionally.  I find that just keeping a life-line to my support group
keeps me on track.

I certainly have no quibble with the concept of eating everything in
moderation, but I found in practice that it didn't work very well for me
to ignore macronutrient ratios.  Perhaps you're doing a good ratio for
you already and so it doesn't factor for you (because it's a challenge
you've already conquered) but I really had to eat a low-glycemic mix or
I would be too hungry and blow my calorie budget.  For me it was all
about getting the right fuel mix so that I was energetic and sated on a
calorie budget that allowed me to lose weight.

This becomes more important as you get smaller and your calorie budget
gets lower and more easily blown.  A 2500 calorie/day budget can handle
an english muffin with butter on it... my 1600/day budget just can't fit
it in without losing too much other stuff that is more important for my
body.
