My Daughters school had a fundraising auction. It was a lot of fun, w/ a lot
of people, and a LOT of food! Free baked goods and appetizers and donated
baked goods from local bakeries for sale and raffle.
Before I started eating healthy, I would sneak up to the food table quite a few
times not being able to resist all of those goodies and snacks. I would have
also bought a cake or 2 to bring home to my 'family' who would each have a pc
and I would finish off when no one was home :\
I didn't want anything! It wasn't even like I had to resist, I just didn't
want it. No interest at all. And I was there for almost 6 hours!
Totally bazaar! lol
I think I have FINALLY found what works for me!

Congrats Kat! I really think our tastes change the longer we stick to a
healthy way of eating. One thing that helps me stay away from this type of
food is remembering how terrible I'm going to feel afterward.

That helps me too, Beverly ... I *know* that if I have a sugar binge early
in the day - by early evening I'm going to have a killer headache... it took
a *long* time to make the connection, but I can assure you - sugary candy I
stay away from ... now, if bread and cheese would just make me sick :-)

That's my usual MO. But this time I didn't even have to do that. I didn't
need to 'talk myself down' in any way ... feels very good, but still a little
strange lol

This good sign is more important than you might think. You are
reaching a dieting zen.

Yup - been there myself today - one of the girls' birthdays in the office. The
place was loaded with cream cakes and I ignored them all. Now I admit to being
an alien who doesn't actually like chocolate, but I did used to eat dairy cream
cakes. Now, the thought that I used to buy a box of four in the supermarket and
eat them on the way home in the car makes me ashamed :(
But - better that I recognise it and have got over it. And - the girls that
brought the cakes in asked me if I'd lost weight today - which was the first
time anyone at work had noticed.
So I'll take the compliment, not the cake :)
