Woo hoo....
Another loss - and I have finally digested my parent's food from yesterday.
Feeling much better today.
And - under 250!! Hooray! With another 2lbs I will have lost 2 stones (28lbs),
2 more after that I can celebrate again - losing 30lbs......I *do* like the
convention of using lbs on this list - get to cheer more than once :)

Good going Cellach. You're doing better than me as I've been standing
still and going up and down a bit lately - entirely my own fault, I
know exactly what I should be doing but sometimes have real trouble
doing it.
I've often said here it's good to celebrate two sets of milestones in
pounds and stones. Sometimes I've been tempted to add kilos too to
get a third cause to celebrate!
The thing I find difficult is that I can't "picture" what weight
someone is at when it's expressed in pounds - it might as well be
written in chinese for all it tells me - just read Wendy's post
telling how she's back at 189, and I had to get the calculator out to
convert it before it meant anything to me.
Hope you have a good week. Are you still going to the classes, or are
you doing it on your own? (just wondered, because of the Monday
morning weigh in thing).

Hi Janice (and thank you allllllll those lovely encouraging folk out there in
asd land :)
When I started this I was 19 stone 8 lbs - one heck of a lot of weight. I know
in the past (when I didn't care) I was off the top of the scale - so over 20
stone.Something in my head has clicked - a light's come on and I will change.
No questions, I will change. I only wish I could take whatever it was that made
that decision for me and give it out in bottles.
I'm not going to SW classes at all - I have been doing this on my own. I'm not
really a "class joining" person. I have borrowed and bought the books I needed
to get me started and I do buy the magazines when they come out for new
recipies etc.
I'm really pleased with 26lbs (almost 2 stone) in 10 weeks. I want to get to my
mini goal which is 16 stone and also happens to be a loss of 50lbs by my
birthday - May next year. I know the losses will start to slow down but I'm
hoping that's realistic. Just being where I am now is a bit of a triumph - I
feel great, I can walk further and so on.
I have been thinking about long term goals recently and might be pitching for
100lbs total loss - which will put my target at 174lbs. I don't know though -
12 stone 4 seems quite light for a 6 footer with a largish frame. I don't have
to worry about it for a long time though.
Thank you everyone for the kind comments - you really do help :)

WTG Cellach! I think it's great to use the stones and pounds. I'm not
sure I would like the stone measurement as you need to lose 14lbs for just
one stone. Do you use fractions of the stone for expressing weight?

The only fraction I'd use is half a stone - so maybe I'd say "I've lost a stone
and a half" - which is 21lbs. A "stone and a quarter" doesn't seem to get used
much in English english (as opposed to American english, that is).

Way to go, Cellach! And the more celebrations the better :-).

Since Cellach was commenting earlier about celebrating in different
measurement systems:
With the one more pound I was down today, I've now lost 40 kilos -- 88
lbs. :-). I'm pretty good at thinking in kilos since we use kilo
plates for Olympic lifting. Picking up that much weight and just
carrying it around is pretty hard -- makes me realize how much I've
lost.

Congrats on the metric milestone Chris!
My digital scale has a choice of displays of either stones or kilos,
so I think I might start adding a new set of milestones for myself - I
like that idea:)
I haven't looked into whether anyone sells a scale here in that
displays weight in pounds - I've never heard of one, but perhaps they
do.
