Weight Watchers "optional calories"

My wife is a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, but it's been a few years
since she was on the program. She'd like to go back on it to take care of a
few pounds, but she really did much better on the old "exchanges" system
over the newer "points" system. She found it easier to eat a balanced diet
because the exchanges helped her track that she was eating enough protein
vs. bread, etc. But she can't find her old materials and WW won't give her
anything but the new points system.

We've found a list on the Web that gives point values for different foods,
but we haven't been able to find the optional calories list they used to
have. You know, 1 tsp sugar = x optional calories. I believe the list may
have been in a "Food Companion" book dated sometime before 2000.

Does anyone have a list like that and would you be willing to share it?

Thanks!

I have the information. I did well on the exchange program but not the

info is quite lengthly.

All of that information is available in the "Weight Watchers Quick Success
Program Cookbook" by Jean Nidetch.  You can pick this book up used on the web
or I found mine for $5 at a used book store.
