Volleyballchick had asked whether veggie burgers would count as a
protein or a carb, according to the plan I'm on with my dietician.
According to my guidelines, it counts as a protein if it has 7g-14g of
protein. It counts as a carb if it has 15g-30g of carbs.
So...if the veggie burger, for example, has 8g of protein/serving and
only 5g of carbs, then it counts as one protein - but no carbs. If, on
the other hand, it has 8g of protein/serving and has 20g of carbs, then
it counts as 1 protein and 1 carb.
Does that make sense? I hope that helps! =)

It makes perfect sense and is a more reasonable way of doing it than all of
one way or the other. As I said, I was mostly curious because I've heard it
go either way but it looks like your plan is a lot more specific. It seems
easier than the basic exchange type diet when it comes to "mixed" foods.
