Splurge day at the County Fair. I love the fair, and I love fair food.
Nothing good for a person there, but very occasionally, this is acceptable
to me. Talk about a sugar rush, though, wow. And, wisdom should tell a
smart 40 year old to DO THE RIDES and THEN eat bad foods! But Noooooo.
Argh!
I don't know that cals are very accurate, but it's an idea on the day,
anyway. Interesting how quickly fat goes up and protein goes down in our
American "fun" day lifestyle.
Food:
9:00 1 med banana
11:00-3:00 2 soft serve ice cream waffle cone, 2 roasted corns dipped in
butter and sprinkled with good stuff, 1 fried bread (elephant ear) w/ sugar
and cinnamon, some soda.
4:00 1 soft garlic pretzel
6:00 1 spicy black bean "burger" at Burgerville, 1 walla-walla onion ring, ½
black forest shake
Cal: 1996, Fat 84 g (37%), Carbs 270g (53%), Protein 54 g (10%)
Exercise/Aerobic activity: taking the day off
Weight training = off day

Yesterday was a splurge for me too -- a dinner at the winery. It
wasn't too excessive except for the desserts and the wine :-).
Food:
*7:00 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices
melted f/f cheese & 10g grated Parmesan
* 9:30 (home): 1 small peach
* 11:30 (home): 30g Great Grains cereal, 30g All Bran Bran Buds, 22g
whey protein, 1 cup skim milk
* 3:45 (home): energy bar
* 6:00 -- 9:00 (winery): 2 small toast slices w/ lox; 1 small puff
pastry cup filled w/ chicken salad; melon soup w/ crab salsa; 2 small
bacon-wrapped scallops on greens w/ oil & vinegar; 4 mushroom ravioli
topped w/ grated cheese; 2 oz. beef tenderloin w/ 2 spiced shrimp and
a few steamed veggies; 1 piece of strawberry whipped cream cake; 1
small piece of dense chocolate cake (this was for the birthday of one
member of our party); 16 oz. wine
Totals: 2299 calories (307 from alcohol); 66g fat (26%), 242g carbs
(42%), 117g protein (20%)
Exercise: None -- intended day off.

My averages for last week:
1741 calories, 30% fat, 39% carbs, 29% protein
This was higher than my target (which is 1600, but I'm not religious
about it :-) ), but the previous week was light:
1479 calories, 31% fat, 40% carbs, 30% protein
