I was gone all weekend to Mexico with a gal pal of mine. Stuck to my WOE
and got alot of walking/shopping in this weekend. Got on the scales this
morning and I'm down another 2 lbs and it's even that TOM. :) So we will
see on Friday when I weigh again what happens :)

Susan, what is your current rate of weight loss? The results are
outstanding, but it seems like maybe it is just a bit too fast?

My current rate? I'm not sure what answer you are wanting to that. I
have lost 58 lbs since June 15th 2003. So give or take a few lbs/days
that would be 11.6 lbs each month for the last 5 months, which works out
to be about 2.5 lbs a week if it we lived in a mathematically perfect
world. The first 6 weeks it was far far more rapid than it is now due to
water/getting a WOE worked out that worked for me/getting exercise
routine sorted. You also have to take into consideration the other
changes I have made. I quit smoking 2 months and 1 week ago which put me
on a 5 week stall. I broke off a relationship and have had a very hard
time with that and have almost totally lost my appetite. I am only
now(its only been a little over a week) eating properly, according to my
own WOE because I know that I have to in order to function properly.

I personally don't feel it is too rapid. Who sets that standard? Is
there a standard of how quick is too quick? I think it's a very
individual thing. As long as I am getting proper nutrients and water -
which I feel I am... And as long as I am not losing muscle which I don't
feel I am due to the type of work I do ranching.. I sometimes literally
work like a field hand.. combined with my free weights and walking..I
should be ok. No?

Makes sense. If you feel good while losing weight, I would think that
you are fine, although maybe it is a good idea if you could verify
that you do not have "gallstones". I also lost about 12 lbs per month.

The only complaint I have is I am exhausted when my day is done. As long
as I am up and moving I am fine and dandy. But the minute I sit down to
do paperwork, bills or get online in the evenings - when I get back up..
I am physically fatigued to the point of can't put one foot in front of
the other without groaning because I am so stiff and achy. I think its
just old age lol. I wish I had more than 24 hours in a day to get all
that I have to get done every day.

As per my gallbladder.. It's fine, I had an full physical/blood workup
in June.

Hello Susan,

I just subscribed to this group yesterday and am just now reading your
post.  First off, congratulations on your weight loss and especially your
quitting smoking decision.  That in itself will eventually make you feel
better and add years to your life, so they say.  I never really smoked, but
my father does and I know one is better off without those things.  He spends
a bundle a month on cigarettes per month.  Take that money and buy you some
nice and new to wear.

Forgive me for my ignorance for not knowing the acronyms used.  Can you
tell me what WOE stands for?  Also, I've noticed what I believe are peoples
weights, maybe goals.  You wrote 260/202/160, can you tell me what each
section represents?  i.e. ?/?/?.

From what I read it sounds to me your losing weight at the appropriate
frequency.  Good job on exercising with free weights and walking.  I've
implemented walking and using a stairmaster at least five times a week, and
feel better weekly.  Currently I'm not working so time isn't a problem to
exercise for me, but I can imagine in your case how working affects you
energy and lower the desire to get out and exercise.  I know if I were
working eight hours a day, it would lower my stamina.  Just keep it up till
you reach that weight you want achieve and I'm sure you'll have more energy
at the end of the work day.

Take care and kudos to the weight loss,

Paul

Hi Paul :)
Welcome to a.s.d. Thanks for posting and the kind words about my
weightloss and smoking - I feel better than I have in 15 years (I'm 36)

As far as the acronyms we use here I believe there is a faq somewhere
for that but I'm not sure where. Maybe someone can post that for you
here in this thread. WOE means Way of Eating. WOL means Way of Life. TOM
means Time of Month(for the ladies) - You will see some folks post
things such as DS and DH, normally that will mean Dear Son or Darling
Son or Husband etc. The 260/202/160 is my starting weight, current
weight and goal. Most do not put in when they started but some do. I
started June 15th.

I'm very glad to see new faces here on this newsgroup. I know for me
when I first started my new WOE I was lost and this group of folks
helped me soooo much in answering questions and giving me somewhere to
vent and smile. This is a good group of folks :)

You didn't mention much about yourself, feel free to elaborate on
yourself at any time.

That's great!  Even better that you were able to keep losing while away.
Congrats!

Thanks :)

I had to stop and think about your comment about being inspiring to you.
That feels good :) I've never considered myself "inspiring". WTG with
your losses too Mieko!
