Silver Threads Among the Gold

When is this compulsive spate of posting on my part going to stop?
(You must be hoping  by now that it will be soon.) Over thirty posts in
a few days is really excessive.

It's something I needed to do to get my ducks in a row and have some
precepts to review when things get rough--and they will! I think we
just about have lift off and the compulsive philosophying can stop and
give way to more practical participation.  You have all been most
understanding.

Are you old enough to remember what Yogi Berra, legendary catcher for
the New York Yankees said? "It's not over until it's over."

Thinking my diet was completed because a lot of weight was lost was
such a mistake. I started that pattern at the age of sixteen and didn't
correct the course until the year 2000. I see now that it's never over.
Not at Thanksgiving, Christmas or even Independence Day. I can never
give up if I want to stay at a decent weight.

I had to take lithium for sixteen years and usually had a manic stretch
following a big weight loss. I starved myself and smoked while having a
lot of coffee. Ineveitably the crash would come and with it suicidal
depressions. Lithium would be prescribed and like clockwork, I gained
two pounds a week until I ballooned up to 219 pounds.

Fortunately I have been emotionally stable ever since losing back the
excess weight and even have been able to go off thyroid supplement.
I know that eating right has supported this stability.

One thing that has improved in my postings is keeping the same subject
header and saving new titles for the body of the message. Years ago,
every post generated a new thread and it annoyed listmates.

I am gathering all these posts into one blog and saving it for
posterity or until Mac crashes, which ever comes first!

Carol --

I think writing things down can be very, very helpful. As Psychologist
B. F. Skinner used to say, one way to find out what you think about
things is to speak.

Continue to post away!

I have a diary I write things in, and also one on my computer. Every
now and then I index them and it seems useful to do so. Thomas
Jefferson (like Senator Graham) used to carry many little notebooks
around he wrote things down in. And he would spend time at night
transcribing his notes. I figure if it's good enough for Jefferson, it
sure is worth considering.

Yours,

Caleb

I will keep writing on my experiment as a personal blog private most of
the time and continue offering answers and support to the group. Nearly
a week of "all about me" even if a little enetertaining is enough.

Not even a minute of you is entertaining. The fact that nearly every other
post on this newsgroup is by you makes me wonder if you are retired. Please
give it a rest. Your opinion is not the only one. Give people a weblink so
they can go to your blog and read all your wonderful opinions if they want
to.
Ignoramus27122 - 31 Aug 2005 17:26 GMT
Not having recognized your name, I am not sure what is the extent of
your contributions here. I suspect that it is small. If you do not
like someone, use your killfile instead of trying to be a net
cop. Trying to be a net cop on usenet is a very frustrating endeavour,
as many people have learned.

In this newsgroup, being a reader is a much bigger contribution than
posting. However you are correct. It is alot easier to just KILLFILE CAROL
FRILEGH.

Nothing personal against her, but I have seen newsgroups like this where ONE
PERSON dominates every discussion due to sheer force of numbers. She
inundates every thread with literally dozens if not hundreds of posts. It
stifles any discussion. It is ALL CAROL, ALL THE TIME!

So thanks for the good advice. I am off to KILLFILE CAROL FRILEGH!!!

I would like to know, what makes you appear here as a new person
without introducing yourself, with the first post being addressed
against another poster. That's a little bit strange pattern that makes
me curious. Normally, people who are not crossposting start with some
introduction, ask weight loss questions, etc.

I am not fat, in fact, I am slim. http://igor.chudov.com/weightloss/

You are the same person as

Frank Forest frank@policia.com
and "Fred Freewell" <fredfreewell@daylabco.com>
and "Jason Tremaine" <jasontremaine74@aol.com>
and "Tommy McCracken" <Tommy@mccracken.com>

and numerous other names.

Is that correct? You seem to be posting to many groups,
alt.fan,howard-stern,alt.horror.cthulhu, etc, the standard assortment,
but never too many posts to any single one of them.

So you don't like my "stand up" or "sit down?"

This morning there were very few posts from others. if I post
frequently it does not prevent the following:

1. Other people posting

2. Those who object to my material kill filing or deleting the posts.

I certainly hope you will do this since you are neither entertained nor
supported by the posts.

On the other hand they have been invaluable to me. Since I don't know
you, I'm inclined to help myself first.

I am unable to add anything to my web site and my ISP does not support
any help beyond providing the page. I will be doing the journaling in
Fitday.

I explained that I blogged as a launch and would depersonalize.

Like your protege, Pinocchio, you aound a bit wooden.

BTW: I would like to be able to say I have enjoyed your contributions
but cannot recall or locate them.

What has retirement got to do with participation?

I just visiting here, but you are not a gentleman to say those things. Very
rude person.

Amusingly, both Jason Tremaine <jasontremaine74@aol.com> and "Gepetto"
are posting from the same ISP, with same newsreader, etc. You seem to
disagree with yourself. Come on, you can do better than that. What you
are doing does not deserve a better label than "stupid crap".

Interesting how you disappeared after your aliases (none likely to
have much to do with your real identity) have been mentioned here.

Sound like you are just a cheap drive by troll wannabe.

NOT EVERYONE can spend 24 hours a day posting away on the computer, like
Carol, you, and a few others.

We don't exist for the sole purpose of your entertainment.  This is a
*support* group and if it is helping Carol to do what she's doing then it's
not your place to decide if it's right.  Her posts should be easy enough for
you to ignore if you don't like them.

Maybe instead of being so critical, you could make a positive contribution.
Just a thought.

Here's my positive contribution: Why do so many FAT GIRLS need support?? You
fat cows turn the weight loss process into a way of life. It is the FAT GIRL
LIFESTYLE. Eat, be fat, pretend to diet, write endless reams of crap about
your dieting, lose a few pounds and gain them back.

Get a life, FATSO.

Gepetto makes puppets--sock puppets. Let's not get into a flame war. We
have other work to do. i

Nunya, I do appreciate your support and I  agreed I was overdoing it.
but I already lost several pounds and feel i can continue on a good
path.
