Back fitday for me. This last week has been a really hectic one for me
and I have missed logging my intake 4 days in a row on fitday. So today
I am back to logging. I wonder though when I will be "safe" and not have
to journal every bite I take. Will I have to be well into maintenance?
Or will it be forever? Do those of you who have been at this a year or
more still journal?

Well, I've been at it for over a year... and for now at least, logging
is a good thing for me. I don't use fitday though, I use Lifeform, a
program on my own computer, so I don't have to be online... plus you
can easily copy meals you eat often into the forms, then edit as
needed.
What I like about it is that if I do anything spectacular in the
kitchen... I at least have some reference as to just WHAT I did...
what ingredients, a rough percentage, etc...
And I also have an ongoing log of my journey for weight loss and
exercise. Admittedly, with some noticeable gaps. It can be a good
reminder at times though!
Logging keeps me honest. I do expect I may reach a point where I don't
have to do it constantly... right now, there are often gaps, just
because I'm not working on my computer, I'm sharing George's. And I
seem to carry on OK even with the sporadic use. However, I also think
I do better when I log. I love the graph that instantly shows me
protein/carbs/fats...
Now that I've had my bloodwork done, I'm looking forward to logging
that in Lifeform too, and then tracking future changes.

I'm with you...I am not back to fitday, but back to daily journeling. I was
hit or miss with it this week due to not feeling my best and a busy
schedule. the result? I only lost 1/2 pound. I found I'd take little
snitchels of food here and there...that added to not exercising as much due
to a weird lethargy due to a cold that just will not go away resulted in
less than a stellar week. Logging does seem to work, as painful as it can
be!
Oh, one thing I've decided to do is to make cookie dough early and freeze it
and then bake the cookies in one or two marathon cookie sessions closer to
Christmas. I figure this way they won't be sitting around tempting me. Has
anyone frozen dough??? I've read it can be done, but worry that somehow the
texture changes. Don't tell me not to make cookies, I will have everyone
in my family, not to mention many friends, bereft if I do not provide them
with their Christmas cookies this year (a tradition my husband and I started
in prekid days, that used to include handmade candy with the cookies. We
dumped the candy deal after kid #1...way too time consuming). Elise.

I prepare and scoop chocolate chip cookie dough and freeze it all the time.
Some recipes are supposed to be better than others but the ones on the
Baker's packages work fine for me.
My evening treat is 2 freshly baked cookies. Chocolate keeps me sane.

I don't use it daily, but I use it occasionaly, and have for over a year. I do
better when I use it more often. My current goal is to use it at least once a
week, which I think is a pretty good goal for something I hope to be able to
do forever. I'm hoping that it will act as good tracking for my weight, and to
keep me thinking about portion sizes on a regular basis.

I started maintenance in February. Kept the food log in excel until a week
ago when my motherboard tanked. I have a backup, but decided to try doing
without it through Thanksgiving and a little vacation I'll be taking until
Dec. 18th. Result of the first week? I lost 2 pounds :-/
But it's sort of like the log was a hobby I enjoyed.
Happy Thanksgiving!
