Food & Exercise -- 11/27/2005

Back to a normal routine.  Went to the gym in the morning (after
sleeping rather late), then to work.  Ran at lunchtime.  Did a bunch
of errands after work, then came home and had my usual turkey burger
:-).

Food:

* 8:30 (driving to gym): ready-to-drink chocolate protein shake
* 10:30 (work, brought from home): 2 hard-boiled eggs
* 12:30 (work, brought from home): salad w/ 130g grilled chicken
breast, 1 cup greens, 10 grape tomatoes, 1/6 cup edamame, 1/4 oz. feta
cheese, some chunks of other veggies, 2 tbsp f/f balsamic vinaigrette
* 3:00 (work, from supply there): energy bar
* 8:00 (home): turkey burger on whole wheat hamburger bun w/ 3 slices
f/f cheese, dill pickle slices, & catsup

Totals: 1254 calories, 35g fat (25%), 97g carbs (31%), 130g protein
(41%)

Exercise:

9:15 -- Upper body:

* Chin-ups: 2 x (1 + 4 partials)
* Bent over barbell rows: 1x15x65; 1x10x95
* Machine-assisted pull-ups, parallel grip: 1x10x30
* Cable rows, one-arm, in lunge position: 1x15x50, each side
* DB bench press: 1x12x30s; 1x10x35s; 1x9x40s
* Incline bench press: 1x20x55
* DB shoulder press: 1x12x20s; 1x10x25s
* Standing on flat side of BOSU ball, with 12.5 lb. DBs -- no pauses
between exercises: alternating lateral and front raises, 12 each;
biceps curls, 20; overhead triceps extensions (with just 1 DB), 15
* Standing biceps curls w/ EZ curl bar: 1x10x35
* Triceps pressdowns: 1x12 w/ 8 plates

1:30 -- 2 mile run

It's kind of nice to be back to normal.  I really enjoyed the time off
from work and Thanksgiving morning spin class, Thanksgiving dinner and
visiting with family, however, it "back to normal" was kind of nice too.

Then again, for me it's important not to get into the party-party
holiday spirit because I do love some of the holiday foods -- A LOT.
Portion control, awareness, and normal/routine days are important.
