BTM Madness - 29 Mar 2006 17:19 GMT
Okay, had some setbacks... I got REAL depressed over Spring Break (no
where to go, no one to spend it with) and didn't do too much...  took
the dogs out for a walk and did a bit with my dumbbells, but didn't
make it down to the rec center.

However, I've bounced back, avoided stepping on the scale that Friday
of Spring Break cause I didn't want to get discouraged, instead I just
went back to the three days a week at the center program.  Stepped on
the scale last Friday (week 7) and I weighed 407.6 pounds (down from
413.2 two weeks ago.)

Good to be back on track.

I've changed sometimes with my workout though, decided to back to
doing the treadmill BEFORE weight lifting.  I dunno, but when I do it
after I just can't stay on very long.  Anyway, past couple of times
I've been walking a mile at speeds from 2.5 to 3.0 with various
inclines (I change them around to keep the workout interesting.)

Well, gotta go...

Way to go....   Why do we all fear that scale so much?   Every personal
trainer I ever had, said to forget the scale and go by how your clothes
fit.    Do any of you believe that?  He said this is especially true
when turning fat to muscle.  Which I am killing myself trying to
accomplish.  I refuse to go through another summer with flab arms.
YET....  I am addicted to the scale. Even though I have not found one
trainer who I have hired to help me, tell me to weigh myself every day.
(I still do it though).  ;-)

I want to, oh how i do!

Six years of light working out has bulked me up but I alsoseem to have
put on a very few pounds. The clothes still fit and my friends here and
IRL remind me to be thankful that  good for my age and am good health
discounting the celiac condition and should focus on other things or
not make so important.

Why is it is easier said than done?

The scale doesn't always have to be discouraging once you’re used to it.
Frequent weight checks can give you and idea of what your weight range
is.  Mine fluctuates 3-5 pounds without fear or gaining or losing.  Once
you have a handle on your body’s weight balance point you can move to
the mirror.  The mirror shows where the weight is collecting.  If it’s
collecting in the tummy that’s bad if it’s collecting in the chest and
arms that’s good.

Congrats on the loss!  Jumping back on track after a minor slip is a sure
sign for success.
