I ran across this article and thought it might be useful to someone who
wonders why all their exercise doesn't seem to result in any
weight-loss.

"When exercise gets comfortable, it's time to  shake things up."

Fitness rut...

Makes sense. Maybe I SHOULD walk my loop backwards, backwards after a time?
;)

Thanks for the FYI!

I'm glad you posted this information. I have been doing some workout
without any results. I guess I can learn from here. Thanks

wow that is so true.

i think it's because you work out different parts of the body more
equally...

and metabolism isn't just one thing itself it's all of you.

like with the diet, mix it up..  i guess that's why they call it..
"well balanced"

i ride the bike (well exercycle) walk with friends...   then do my toe
touches...   cleaning the place..  walking the steps..   i guess it
does make a difference.

I've always been convinced the body gradually becomes accustomed to the same
exercise routine and actually burns slightly fewer calories if we don't
continue to challenge it.  My main exercise is biking but I do intervals on
the treadmill, lift weights and have quite a few exercise videos I use to
vary my exercise routines.  I've always found that new exercise often works
muscles I didn't even know I had<g>

.. and squats always work muscles that we don't have.  Every time I do
them I'm sore for the two days following.  Even though I've been doing
them weekly for years.
