Hi,

I am trying to estimate my caloric intake for one day.
It appears that its very low or my calculation is incorrect.
Would you tell me if you disagree with my estimations ?

Breakfast : 2 eggs , 2 bkfast sausage  fried in Mazola oil
               tea with no sugar                         400
10 AM     : one banana                                  50
Lunch     : yogurt and grape nuts small cup    300
3:00 PM   : spinach one cup , olive oil ,
           cheese one slice                             300
6:00 PM   : one apple                                    50
                                   -----------------------
                                   total     1100 calories

I have plenty of energy and exercise about an hour a day
Weight lifting and bike trainer.

any help is appreciated.

thanks
Michael

A banana is usually closer to 80 calories, I think.

Other than that - how much oil are we talking about? Remember, just ONE
level tablespoon as 100 calories in it. And 1 tablespoon is not a lot of oil
if you are frying.

hi ,

even if I add 300 more Calorie to total , its still below what I should
take per day.
I am 53 , 5'10" and about 195 lbs , I have lost about 40 lbs in the
past 3 months.
what is wrong with this picture ? why is it so easy ?

thanks

Yes, it's very low and your calculations are close enough to show that
it's low.  I think you need to take a look at the nutrients in those
calories though.  They're not balanced throughout the day and certainly
very low in protein for someone who is weight lifting.
