Don't think that I have ever seen water aerobic mentioned here. Tonight
instead of doing the usual cardio/machines I thought I might do the
water aerobics - I wasn't feeling that great and thought it would be
easier but it actually was a pretty good workout. Sure I didn't break a
sweat and I wasn't ever breathing that hard but my muscles were having
a moment of burn here and there. any thoughts on water aerobics?

I used to do water aerobics several years ago -- it's what initially
got me into a gym.  I think it's more exercise than it feels like --
the cool water makes for less perceived exertion.  And there is a
decent strength component involved in moving your body against the
water's resistance.  While I don't do it nowadays, I think it's a good
form of exercise, and quite enjoyable.

I did water aerobics a few years ago at a community center near my previous
home.  I didn't realize just how much of a workout it was until the next day
when some muscles were hurting<g>  I loved it and feel it's a great
low-impact exercise.

My ex, (pre-ex) after knee surgery used a float-belt around her waist (so
she wouldn't sink) to walk around the pool in a kinda/sorta bicycle
cycling fashion. She rehab'd in two weeks.

It was remarkable to witness. The main pain issue was walking the 150' to
the pool and back.
