I'm always looking for outdoors stuff to do... this weekend we've been out a
lot and I love it!

Sooooo what do you do to burn calories that is outdoors?

I love riding my bike.  Well, the bike has a motor so I don't burn
calories but the fact that I'm out riding for 6-8 hours means I'm not
consuming a lot of calories.  That means less have to be burned.

Almost every other time I get outside there are calories just waiting to
be burned.  Cutting the lawn, planting and weeding the gardens, trimming
the bushes, etc.  That's just the fun stuff.  Last weekend was spent
scraping and painting the outside of my house.  Who knows how many
calories burned away while climbing a 32' ladder over and over again.

Probably lots!  I hauled firewood all day on Saturday though I did use a
wheelbarrow after a while because we had a lot to do and a short time to get
it done.

I'm with cheese - I love bike riding (now that I'm no longer saddle-sore)
and there's something about cutting the grass that is both relaxing and
invigorating at the same time (if that is possible). I love to crank the
hair metal on my MP3 and tackle the lawn...

I am also going to start golfing (when I get the money for greens fees
together), I came across a set of old golf clubs last year so I thought I'd
give it a shot...

I ride a lot and I love it. Fortunatley I live in a place that has no
shortage of bike tracks, one of which passes the bottom of my street
and goes for about 25km all the way to the beach. Once there theres
plenty of places to stop for a coffee or whatever. Riding is great
because you can do it at a leisurely pace and watch the world go by or
you can really get stuck in and push.
I also have a favourite walk I do. Its up the highest mountain (well
more of a hill really but hey, its the best we've got!) we have here.
It's quite steep and tough but I time myself everytime I do it and I'm
always trying to get up there just a litle bit quicker. Once up there I
like to run back down it which I find good as I have a few issues with
balance & coordination since loosing weight (btw, anyone else
experienced anything like this?) and I think it helps to be running on
un-even, rocky, downhill surfaces.... Well I think so anyway.

Ditto for cycling.  I do most of mine on the road.

Kayaking! Just about my favorite thing, right after that is taking the dogs
hiking. They always have way more energy then I will ever have..

Walking, running, hiking (mostly up mountains).  However, this week
it's suddenly in the mid-90s and my body isn't used to it yet!

Playing with the dogs, hiking, gardening, stacking wood, snowshoeing, x
country skiing, yard/field work, running.

My housekeeping goes to hell from crocus time til the last leaves
fall...I can't bring myself to be in when the sun is shining, and the
best time to weed the gardens is when it's raining!
