I have justed started a journey to become half the man I am. I need to
lose about 100kg or 220lb to get to normal weight. I have started a web
page to allow people to follow my progress and give me support and
tips. I have started by beginning a low carb diet, one week in I feel
great, never hungry and have lost 4.2kg or 9lb with very little
exercise. I do plan to exercise more. If you want to check it out and
follow my progress go to www.halfthemaniam.com. There is a forum and a
blog plus a photo gallery. You are very welcome to visit.

Good luck to you mate, always nice to see another Aussie on board!
Take my word for it, this can be done. Set 20 or 10 kg milestones and
knock them off one at a time. It will happen before you know it and
you'll wonder why you didnt do it years ago.

Hey,
Yeah aussies can be few and far between sometimes.
My milestones are 5kg marks. But the best milestones for me will be
fitting into various size clothes I've gathered along the way from XL
to 7XL. If I see myself fitting into smaller clothes I'll know I'm
really doing something right!

Yeah, I hear ya with the clothes! I had a heap of stuff in the wardrobe
that I had bought on my way up, was too small and never returned. I
managed to work my way through all of it on the way down plus all of
the realy big stuff I was actually wearing PLUS all the stuff I had to
buy while losing weight! I've just donated it all to a large mate and
the Salvos and I was staggered by the amount of it. I guess the one
tiny downside to losing weight is that you spend a hell of a lot of
cash on clothes. This is pretty easily countered by the fact that I now
shop from the other end of the rack. It still amazes me every time I
buy a shirt in a SMALL or size 30 jeans!

Cool Brock! What a good decision. Keep up the spirit. Make sure you
write down your goal so that you can measure your success. Good mindset
is important. Always store healthy foods at home!

Very nice website, Brock. Have you seen this one?
http://twicetheman.blogspot.com/
It looks like "G. R." has a rival Down Under.
Good skill with your progress. In addition to your blog, I'd suggest
contributing to the conversations on ASD as well. The more the merrier!

Thankyou.
I have not seen that website. It is very similar. I didn't steal his
idea or anything, in fact I thought it was our unique idea. Anyway my
brother looks after the website. I 'only' have to lose the weight.

No accusation was intended, Brock. I was amused by the likeness.

Yes, "only"....

Hey Congratulations,
It's good to know that it is possible.
I've got the first step right, I am keen and excited to lose weight.
Before I just didn't care or couldn't be bothered.
The internet is a great place to get support and help, but there are so
many conflicting ideas. I'm just going to try and find what works for
me and stick with it.

It's not possible, it's definite. Don't let negativity get you down, as
I do sometimes. The Ohio "half the man" blogger has been stuck in the
330s for months now because of his negative self-image; let's not have
the Aussie one fall into the same trap.

That's perhaps the best approach.
One site worth reading is:

The author has put the first four chapters of his book online. It's
wonderful motivation.
