Anyone have trouble with nuts?28 Jan 2004 04:46 GMT29
A few weeks ago I started the South Beach Diet. Part of the diet was raw almonds. For three days (not in a row) I ate 15 raw almonds a day. For three days in the evening about 4 hours after eating them I had tremendous pain in my abdomen through to my back. The only thing that my ...

couple questions about weight training28 Jan 2004 01:46 GMT29
I definitely have a weaker side.  I'm doing two sets of 10
of each leg exercise smoothly and easily with the right leg,
but that left leg is still hanging in at one set of 10 and a
couple more.  Should I hold back progress on the right leg
R. Stover/bathroom results28 Jan 2004 01:26 GMT2
I am limited to one Russell Stover candy, and still spend at least 4 hours
in the bathroom after my one piece of chocolate.
But I wonder this: how can I have this experience and still be stalled?  I
thought some folks were taking laxatives on purpose to lose weight??

We're snowed and iced in down here in NC--and I wanted a treat.  I
found a cup of whole milk ricotta in the fridge and dished out about
1/4 cup (2 grams carbs) onto a saucer.  I added a little Splenda and
some homemade vanilla flavoring.  YUM!!  Now to experiment with some
ATKINS DIET CHANGED SINCE HE DIED27 Jan 2004 23:11 GMT2
Aren't they now saying you should only have 20% of your diet represented by
fat?  What do shills have to gain from pumping SBD, LOL at whoever said
that.
REC Cheese Taco Shells27 Jan 2004 22:53 GMT8
I found this on a website and felt compelled to share because I thought they
were really good.
Spray Pam on a plate. Sprinkle enough shredded cheddar on the plate to form
a circle about the size of a taco. Make sure you have enough to cover the
South Beach Snack ?27 Jan 2004 22:50 GMT3
I can't stand the tasteless lowfat cheese sticks that are specified in
the SBD.  Is there any problem having beef jerky for a snack or lunch
item.
South Beach vs Atkins............27 Jan 2004 22:23 GMT13
What's the difference?
"Quiche"27 Jan 2004 21:44 GMT3
I have been reading this forum for a while and decided to share a low carb
recipe I came up with last night.  It was delicious, and my family,
particularly my teenagers, loved it.
I used some leftover spaghetti squash, about 2 cups cooked, and sauteed it with
Sorbitol, Matinol and the OLS!!27 Jan 2004 19:46 GMT5
Since Maltitol is metabolised at the rate of 3 calories per gram in everyone
who doesn't get the runs, even if their blood sugar doesn't spike, this
seems like a very poor nutritional choice for someone on a low carb diet.
You are getting 13.5 grams of glucose in every serving ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERT BURNS27 Jan 2004 18:21 GMT6
I know it is an hour away est, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy day in
honor of Robert Burns.  I had a few drinks tonight to honor him and had some
Haggis and such.  I took a day off from the diet, but I'll be back on
tomorrow.  It will be a long night sleeping due to the ...
High protein, not low carbs?27 Jan 2004 17:52 GMT19
As I mention in http://atkinsandme.blogspot.com, a recent TV show
makes some interesting points which may be of relevance to us,
LC'ers.
Bearing in mind the following three pillars of Atkins' theory as to how his
