Are there any good low carb coffee flavorings? Thank you. I have been on this diet for 3 weeks and my weight went down 2 pounds and then up 3. I am so disappointed. I would appreciate any help.

| Please Read: Relationship between heavy calorie burn and hunger? | 27 Jan 2004 03:11 GMT | 7 |
This is a beginner style question, but I do not know where to find my answer. Today I burned somewhere around 600-700 calories in the gym. I ran alot, and did leg weight work as well.

Think you're on the right track, Sheila. I've pretty much been combining the best of both with good results.

The recipes originally called for Somersweet, but had conversions. As I don't use Somersweet, I converted these recipes. Have fun. * Exported from MasterCook * Dark Chocolate Mousse

| Food Reviews | 27 Jan 2004 00:04 GMT | 14 |
The first and most exciting is Carb Control Yogurt by Dannon. South Beach includes fruit flavored yogurt in phase 2 and I like yogurt so I thought this would be good. However, I cringe at the sugars included. Carb Control comes in 4oz - 6packs, sweetened with Splenda. I had not seen ...

| Another restaurant with low-carb option | 26 Jan 2004 23:36 GMT | 1 |
I don't recall any posts about this restaurant, so I thought I'd pass it along. It's called Baja Fresh. I went there yesterday with my sister and her kids and the food was really good. The big surprise to me was that they have a page on their menu that has meals for different ...

| too low an appetite? | 26 Jan 2004 23:00 GMT | 24 |
I'm on day 13 of induction. Yesterday and today I am eating 4-5 meals/snacks a day, but I am getting full quickly.. almost too quickly. I'm 350/342/200 and most sources guestimate that I would need 3420

| Low carbs and pulse rate? | 26 Jan 2004 22:54 GMT | 18 |
I take a beta-blocker for blood pressure. Started a no-carb period a few days ago, and the pounds seem to be peeling away. But I feel queasy, headachey, exhausted and weak - normal entry symptoms? More concerning, my pulse rate is up from 70-ish to 90-ish much of the time.

| A New Cheese fry | 26 Jan 2004 22:32 GMT | 1 |
Go to your Mexican market and buy Queso Blanco. Slice 1/4 inch thick and heat a nonstick skillet on medium temperature. Place slice Blanco onto the heated skillet and brown both sides. It does not melt! Serve with low carb salsa! If you want more flavor - brown the cheese in ...

| low-carb alternative to GORP | 26 Jan 2004 22:31 GMT | 45 |
I've always taken GORP -- raisins, peanuts, M&Ms, pretzels & corn chex -- on hiking, biking, or kayaking trips as a source of energy. When I went on the Atkins diet, GORP was out. I haven't found anything that's as satisfying, easy to snack on a bit at a time, and as energizing.

| What made you decide? | 26 Jan 2004 22:05 GMT | 18 |
How and when did you decide to go from letting your weight go to being disciplined enough to want to lose weight and stick with Atkins (or any other)? Was it a lifetime of just letting yourself go or was it a certain event?

| Atkins : Has stopped working for me, advice needed | 26 Jan 2004 21:44 GMT | 17 |
I lost 4kgs in the first four days of Dr Atkins (wow). Then nothing in 3 weeks of DR A. I just haven't budged a gram. I thought I might be eating too much cheese so cut that out. I suspect that if you creep over your max-carbs then you've wasted your time?

| Other Nut Flours? | 26 Jan 2004 21:16 GMT | 4 |
I have seen that several low carb recipes contain almond flour. Is there any particular reason to use almonds to make flour or can any nut or seed be ground to make flour?
