I appreciate all the advice and ideas I've received from everyone. My scales are very consistent. My husband has weighed on them and gone to the doctor and his weight is exactly the same. I'm comfortable that the problem is not with my scales.

Ok, forgive me for my insipidness, but I was recently informed of a lady I know from work who does a "modified" form of Atkins diet.. There is a 1 hour window every day where you can eat ANYTHING you want, the only stipulations to the diet are that the other 2 meals
