Modified Atkins, and still maiintaining21 Jan 2004 02:46 GMT1
Hi group
Went on low carb on 06/09/03. Lost 25 pounds. Never hungry. But 3 months
into the WOE I changed it a bit:
1. Ate whole wheat products. Bread and pasta. Never gained a pound and kept

Anybody know where you can buy bulk xanthan gum by the LB or KG to use
as a thickener?
Iron Supplement Question21 Jan 2004 01:42 GMT3
Just wondering why it is recommended that one's daily multi-vitamin
supplement NOT contain iron?
I accidently bought one from sam's club (advanced multi, I think)  that
contains rda 100% for iron.
Getting a bit discouraged21 Jan 2004 01:27 GMT14
Hey all,
I've been lurking and poking my head in here and there.  Hopefully you all
won't find this too whiney:
I've been heeding all advice and read and re-read Atkin's book and am trying

REC: Ricotta Pie21 Jan 2004 01:20 GMT4
This is a simple recipe I got from someone at work - all I did was
replace the sugar with Splenda - it came out very well.  I used a
regular frozen pie crust as my husband (who doesn't LC) was going to
be having some too.  For me, I just broke the crust off with a fork -
My latest Subway experience :)21 Jan 2004 01:18 GMT16
Some of you may remember my experience at Subway a few weeks ago.  I
went in, asked for an Atkins Wrap and the guy behind the counter was a
little unclear on the concept.  He essentially gave me the wrong type of
wrap.  It was made with white flour instead of whole wheat.  I ...
Subway21 Jan 2004 01:05 GMT6
I work in broadcast media.......and last week, Subway sent over a big
platter of the low-carb wraps for us to try.
They were good....a little small though....but what made me laugh, was that
they sent over another platter of COOKIES along with it!!!
Atkins says NOT true about changing position on fats21 Jan 2004 01:03 GMT3
Just got this from the Atkins email list...
We want to assure you that when you follow the Atkins Nutritional
Approach (ANA), the consumption of all forms of natural fat is
perfectly safe. Let us also remind you that despite numerous studies

Why ketosis?21 Jan 2004 00:25 GMT10
I'm still on induction, and still losing weight.
But I'm not yet convinced that low carb has any deep magic
over low-calorie in general
My experience so far is that lowering carbs is doing two things:
recipes for low carb things online?21 Jan 2004 00:23 GMT3
Where do you guys go for your favorite recipes? I have been on atkins
for 8 days and have lost 7 pounds but am tiring of the same food. Also
any recipes for dessert would be great. Mt birthday is coming and I
don't want to blow it all just for one day.
Tropicana Light 'N Healthy orange juice21 Jan 2004 00:23 GMT3
It's just not breakfast without juice, so tried the Tropicana LNH
orange juice.  (At 17 carbs per 8 ounces, it doesn't qualify as
low-carb.)  I thought the juice was delicious, although a bit too
sweet.  Interesting though, after one spoonful of the
Stretched skin post by C revisited please!21 Jan 2004 00:20 GMT10
I was intrigued by this thread and since it is one year old I'd love
to see it revisited.  Has anyone tried any of the products?  How did
they work for you?
I'm dealing with the ugly flabby upper arm thing and since I tend to
