REC: Sausage stuffed mushroom.20 Jan 2004 16:29 GMT3
I had a low carb day and wanted a tasty snack in the evening. I came
up with this little splurge.
I used Stuffing Mushrooms. I removed the mushroom stems--I used them
in a separate salad. I mixed the cream cheese and mayo till smooth.
Atkins and no aspartame sweetner20 Jan 2004 16:26 GMT29
I'm sure this has been discussed at length, however I'm trying to figure out
why the newer Atkins books suggest staying away from equal etc. and the older
books don't.  The older books suggest diet rootbeer and cream as a snack and/or
diet jello.  These items do contain aspartame.  ...
graham crackers20 Jan 2004 16:17 GMT15
Last night I had a smei-epiphany.  I decided to write to Kraft
Foods (Nabisco is part of the conglomerate) to prod them to make
LC graham crackers.  Don't you think those would be really
worthwhile and would garner a nice profit?  (I was thinking of

Sams Club Low Carb Stuff20 Jan 2004 12:23 GMT9
This is my first posting here. I am starting my second week of low carb
and want to drop about 50 or so pounds; just thought I might post some good
low carb stuff I found at SAMS club. We bought some pizza pockets that have
9G per piece, they are really great for lunch or a small ...
Starbucks20 Jan 2004 08:43 GMT8
FWIW, I just emailed them to ask that they look into using Hood's
lowcarb "milk" in their lattes. (Yes, I know about breves, but a latte
with Hoods would be lower carb). I also asked them to consider carrying
more than one flavor of sugar free syrups. If they carried English

Franks Buffalo sauce question20 Jan 2004 04:21 GMT3
I've seen a few recipes that use Franks hot sauce to make buffalo sauce for
wings. My question is, is there anything wrong with just buying Franks
already made buffalo sauce? It says 0 carbs on the nutritional label. Or is
it just that the recipes I've seen may taste better?
Saturated fat question20 Jan 2004 03:57 GMT4
With all this talk lately about saturated fat, I have a question.
Is the purported danger from eating too much saturated fat, that it
could raise the LDL in my blood, and then its that higher LDL (or ratio
of LDL to HDL) that gives me a higher risk of heart disease?
*only* two pounds20 Jan 2004 03:18 GMT13
I was thinking the other day about the whole notion of folks
complaining about losing *only* two pounds in some period of time.
Go to your fridge.  Take out eight sticks of butter and look at them.
That is 2 lbs of fat.  That is what is *off* your body when you lose

but merely "overweight".  of course, i think the BMI charts are total crap,
but it still feels pretty good to have made it this far.
