Low carb is off the chain.  It is really just getting bigger and bigger.  I
personally think this is just the beginning.  The only problem I see for
those of use that are low carbers is the price of meat.  Beef is so
expensive already and now we are going to have a bunch of new ...

stuffed pork loin 09 Jan 2004 04:22 GMT5
Bought a pork loin at Costco. Wonderful value but not enough fat on
it; it would dry out too quickly. Decided to put the fat inside it so
it would contribute moisture and flavor.
Froze some Italian sausage links for a few hours to firm them.

Low carb in the news09 Jan 2004 03:48 GMT1
http://news.google.com/news?q=low+carb&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&edition=us&sa=N&tab=wn
It's the Google news search (as opposed to web search), so you may get
different results than I did. I tried this out of curiosity and was
amazed at the number of hits. Among them - the potato growers ...
Do I need to go to the doctor?09 Jan 2004 03:02 GMT8
As I have said previously I have been low-carbing for 5 weeks and in
some of the previous posts I keep reading about people going to the
doctors to get this and that checked (cholesterol, etc.).  Is this
normal? How do I know that my cholesterol isn't too high.  Do I need
The motherlode at Super Wal-Mart09 Jan 2004 02:29 GMT41
I mostly lurk on here but thought I would add this for anyone who might not
be aware:
I was just at a Super WalMart (Las Vegas) today and saw the Motherlode of
low-carb products.  Since September, they  had a special shelving unit set
Terrible Headache for 3 days09 Jan 2004 02:28 GMT7
The first few days of induction I had a terrible headache, then I felt
better than I had ever felt in my life for a few days, then I went to
feeling good.  This lasted about 4 weeks, then 3 days ago I decided to
go back to induction (cutting out jello, nuts and the occasional
Dangers of a low carb diet09 Jan 2004 02:26 GMT11
Ok, I have only been low-carbing for 5 weeks now and I have never felt
better in my life.  However, I am concerned as to whether it is
healthy in the long run to be on a high fat, low carb diet.  I have
heard that it can eventually cause heart attacks and is bad for the
Induction (Thanks!)09 Jan 2004 01:51 GMT1
Good afternoon all
I want to express my thanks to all of you unknown folks out there that have
helped me decide on following the Atkins WOE. I started reading this
newsgroup about three months ago and found lots of helpful information and
kind of a strange question09 Jan 2004 01:23 GMT12
Okay...Jan. 5, I went back to 20 gm/carbs "induction" to kick start my
weight loss. From mid-November to Jan. 5, I had gained 6 pounds back
from what I had lost previously, doing low carb. I'm pretty happy that
the damage was only 6 pounds, considering that I ate anything, and
LC Chocolate milk09 Jan 2004 01:07 GMT3
Just arrived at my supermarket - Hood "Carb Countdown"
"Atkins friendly" 2% chocolate milk - 3g carbs per cup!
No soy and damn tasty, too!
Only one problem - it's $3.49 for a half gallon.
Bad News about Bella Vita Pasta09 Jan 2004 00:26 GMT3
I drove down to Trader Joe's today and found no Bella Vita pasta on the
shelves.  I asked the store manager what was up, and he told me that they
would not be back in stock until March 1, because the company had to comply
with "substantiating" their labels which required testing and ...
