After hearing about this on the radio this morning my curiosity made me check out the website. To my surprise, I'm really thinking about getting the 1 or 5 lb version... Now if they would make a 1 lb version of muscle I might finally be able to get through to all those

| Relief! Didn't gain much | 20 Feb 2004 13:17 GMT | 6 |
Oh, I was so scared. I went and got weighed and measured at Curves today, and I was afraid that I'd gained 2 or 3 pounds this month, but it was only half a pound. I don't ever wanna be scared like that again though, so I'm going to be more vigilant in my eating and exercising. ...

I woke up in the middle of the night last night, and while channel surfing to find a movie to lull me back to sleep, stumbled across a low-carb foods segment on QVC. The product being shown was "Gayle's Miracle Truffles", being promoted as suitable for low-carb diets and diabetics.

| Making slow progresss | 20 Feb 2004 12:16 GMT | 8 |
It's nice to hit round number marks. Yesterday, I hit 60 lbs loss. Slow but steady beats gaining weight. I've leveled off to about 3 lbs/month loss. However, more importantly I have not had to reduce my calorie intake. I agree with some of the recent posters about the need to ...

| Net Carb Question | 20 Feb 2004 04:47 GMT | 4 |
Okay so I am doing okay on SBD, but my question is about Net Carbs. So if my food has 0 sugar and 0 fiber but say, 15 Other carbs, what effect do those "other" carbs have on my diet? Do they affect my blood sugar like sugars? Are they fattening carbs? or are they negligible ...

| Soy Milk and Atkins? | 20 Feb 2004 04:17 GMT | 16 |
I am sure this has been covered, but I was wondering about any potential detriment to have soy milk on Atkins, specifically Silk. (plain) I notice they vary in carbs quite a bit. Edensoy has 28 carbs and less than a gram of fiber.

| info on athletes and LC | 20 Feb 2004 03:33 GMT | 4 |
I'm being asked a friendly question about where people doing LC get glycogen for energy, considering we're not getting it from carbs. (Well, we are, but not very much since the carbs are so low.) A further question, which was spurred by a fit skier who died of a heart

| The Zen of cooking | 20 Feb 2004 00:42 GMT | 11 |
Just an early morning thought here, maybe it goes nowhere, but .... I have been lurking (mostly) and reading about people who eat on the run, who grab a quick bite, who unwrap a snack, and who munch between meetings. Of course, -- they -- used to be --me--.

I've signed up over at SBDiet.com and am going to use the message boards there for support. I'm too sensitive for this NG and don't really feel like I fit in. See http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame6.html
