Need an opinion31 Mar 2004 23:43 GMT32
My son is a health nut. He is into body building right now and training for
a big competition. I happened to mention to him that I am on Atkins diet and
doing pretty good so far. Just wanted his opinion of what he thought of it
and he is totally against it. He sent me this enclosed ...
I'm SO depressed!31 Mar 2004 22:38 GMT34
Hello friends!
My weight has blossomed to just over 400 pound-a-roo's!  I am suicidal, I just
don't know what to do.  Let me give you a heads up on my pathetic life.
I was raised in an abusive house hold, was beaten by my father on a regular
Added incentive...31 Mar 2004 22:35 GMT1
I just found out that the weight pool I'm in actually has a monetary
incentive to it.. Anyone who didn't lose their 10% body weight by May 29 has
to kick up $50 to the pool (10 people total) and the "losers" get to split
it ;-)

I'm on South Beach and doing OK, but in a current lull--
Went out for a change and ate at Ruby Tuesday's. Ordered the "Burger
Wrap" from their low carb menu. It claims to be only 8 (or 11?) carbs.
It had at least 6 ounces of burger wrapped in some sort of leathery

I found this at SuperTarget. It is 3g per serving instead of 6g in regular
creamer. I can fit my 2 cups in and stay in my 40 gram range.

Has just low-carb ever worked for anybody?31 Mar 2004 15:29 GMT84
Most of us, me included, eventually seem to arrive at the conclusion that we
need to watch calories in order to lose weight very long term (beyond the
quick loss you get from just watching carbs the first 6 months or so).
I use low-carb to help reduce hunger and to keep my blood ...
South Beach : Phase II - cheating consequences?31 Mar 2004 14:05 GMT7
I'm on Phase II of this diet and had a severe cheat this weekend as it was
my birthday. I think that as a result, I'm feeling extremely tired and have
had some discomfort today.
I'm curious as to others stories of the consequences of a cheat. What kinds

The other day I was driving by Burger King and saw that they had a "See our
Low Carb Menu" sign in their window.  I love Burger King burgers and just
had to see what they were offering, so I went through the drive-thru and
read over the menu and saw nothing Low Carb.  I asked what ...

HELP!!! What did I do wrong??????31 Mar 2004 04:23 GMT10
Hey folks,
I've been on the Atkins diet since last July.  I lost approx. 30 pounds
and plateaued (is that a word?).
I fell off the wagon between Thanksgiving and New Years.  Then I
Next phase of weight control31 Mar 2004 03:49 GMT4
I'm now within 1 pound of having lost an even 90 pounds.  It
has taken 7 months to get here.  On one hand this has been
remarkably quick, on the other hand it feels like I have
been doing this forever (almost like it has become a way of
PING marengo -- GF grill cleanup31 Mar 2004 03:49 GMT6
Peter -- Here's a very belated thank-you for the great tip you posted last
year for easy cleanup of George Foreman grills.  I love it!
Previously, despite the supposed non-stick coating, I used to always have
to scrub rather hard to get it clean.  And when I was trying to decide
