Still stalled, and now I'm annoyed20 Mar 2004 02:18 GMT19
Got weighed and measured at Curves today.  I've been stalled since January,
and I've been accepting it as a natural plateau, but now it's gone on too
long and I'm not liking it.  Not only did nothing go down, but my BF%, ab,
and thigh measurements actually went up.

REC  --  Veal substitute20 Mar 2004 01:38 GMT1
Although I have not tried this with a LC "breading," it worked amazingly
well with panko (Japanese breadcrumbs).
Cut pork tenderloin into 3/8" or 1/2" slices.  Pound until thin, then use as
you would in a recipe calling for veal.
Salon piece on "Passing for Thin" author20 Mar 2004 00:26 GMT15
There's a good interview piece in Salon today on Frances Kuffel, who
wrote "Passing for Thin: Losing Half My Weight and Finding My Self" at

breading/flour20 Mar 2004 00:23 GMT10
What can I use as a substitute for flour which is used as breading in
recipes?  Some type of protein powder perhaps?
Thanks, Debra
Sour Cream recipes?19 Mar 2004 23:57 GMT11
I had an interesting experience at the grocery store yesterday. When I
selected my food, it dawned on me that I was not consciously on a diet, that
this is actually how I *prefer* to eat. Does anyone have ideas on what to do
with sour cream? Impulsively, I bought a tub of it and now ...
A benefit I had forgotten about.19 Mar 2004 23:54 GMT14
This will probably end up being kind of long - so please try to stick
with me to the end...There IS a point...LOL
I've been back on the seriously low-carb bandwagon for a little over
two weeks now. I lost a huge chunk when I first started with it two
cornstarch in ibuprofen19 Mar 2004 22:29 GMT4
I have a bottle of ibuprofen from Costco. The inactive ingredients contain
cornstarch. Do you think this is okay to take during the Induction phase of
Atkins? My legs are killing me; I cannot sleep at night because of it. It
feels like when you try to stretch and it hurts. And yes ...
an interesting experience with pizza...19 Mar 2004 22:20 GMT27
.i've been doing low-carb (semi-atkins) for about 3 months
.i never did real induction, just started off at about 30 g
carbs per day, sometimes a little more
.so far i've lost 20 pounds
Anyone TOO regular on this diet?19 Mar 2004 21:44 GMT7
Is there anyone who's too regular on this diet?  I take no fiber pills or
the like yet I'm way more regular than I was on low fat (and I ate the
same number of meals).  What's the deal?

Pointer: John Stossel19 Mar 2004 16:16 GMT1
I just saw a blurb for another edition of John
Stossel's "Lies, Myths, and [forget the rest of
the name]".  It will be airing this Monday night.
One of the items mentioned was whether low carbs
Carol Ann...19 Mar 2004 15:19 GMT3
I wonder if she's had her baby yet... it's been a while since
I've seen a post from her...
Carol Ann, if you can read this from wherever you are,
I hope you and baby are doing fine!
Went Insane19 Mar 2004 12:23 GMT44
on the weekend. Omigod - the longer I'm at this, the longer I wonder
if I will ever acquire a working brain that doesn't respond to stress
with an all-out binge. I disgust myself while I'm bingeing, but it
doesn't stop me. I feel like crap when I'm finished - that doesn't
I told ya so!19 Mar 2004 08:24 GMT36
I just got off the phone with my sister.... you know, the one that
refused to even try lowcarb.  The one that kept offering me special k
for breakfast and apologized for only having full fat sour cream when I
went up for new year's... gee it's been over a year now.
