| Newbie with question regards dinner party | 17 Mar 2004 18:53 GMT | 8 |
Hi all. I've been lurking for a few weeks to prepare myself for Atkins. I started induction yesterday and am already starting to feel the effects - I've been a bit lightheaded and sweaty. I went on Atkins two years ago after the birth of my daughter and lost about 30 pounds, and ...

| entemans, sugar, "treats" being "good" and "fat people" | 17 Mar 2004 16:00 GMT | 102 |
Interesting reading on the thread about the LC "goodies"... reading the group here it becomes clear that a few change forever and most "try to change" and cling to their old ways and ideas. 5 or 6 who seem to have eliminated sugar who I know here at school

| non-acidic low GL foods | 17 Mar 2004 15:37 GMT | 3 |
All these green veggies, yoghurt, sour cream, cheeses etc are nice, but I'd like something sort of bland and non-acidic to balance them. (Trying not to do rice or bread etc at this time, or even pasta.) Is there a reference that shows both GL and acid/alkali level?

| The New Gym | 17 Mar 2004 15:26 GMT | 6 |
Well, I went with Crash last night to check out the regular gym in town, and I was very impressed. They've got a LOT of circuit training equipment, and a thingamajij for working on your abdominal muscles. And the machines aren't over-crowded. Seemed that most people prefered to ...

| Need advice on breaking a stall... | 17 Mar 2004 15:18 GMT | 22 |
I've been lurking here for about a month, and have discovered that a 'stall' is common around week 3 or 4 of Atkins. What I'd like is advice on how to break the stall I'm in. Oh, and since I *have* been lurking... just for you, JC, 879 calories, 8 carbs today, with an average of ...

| I cheated | 17 Mar 2004 15:00 GMT | 4 |
Might as well admit to it, come on out and say it. I cheated over this past weekend. The pain from the car accident, being layed up and bored did it I think. I had some Jack Daniels wine coolers Saturday night. Looked and looked for a carb count and sugar count, didn't find any. I

| The Day Has Arrived! (Entenmans) | 17 Mar 2004 14:57 GMT | 51 |
When I first started this five years ago, I remember that low fat was all the rage. I think the thing that killed my LF diet was when Entenmans cakes came out with those wonderful "zero fat", loaded with sugar goodies. Well THE DAY HAS ARRIVED...... I see tons of Entenmans LOW ...

| I must be losing inches | 17 Mar 2004 09:26 GMT | 4 |
I feel great today. My next door neighbor, who I have not seen all winter said it looks like I'm losing alot of weight. Then my daughter asked me today if I'm getting skinny again! Two compliments in one day. The funny thing is that I'm at the same weight since August 2003. My

Hi LCers! I saw this product advertised in my K-mart Sunday circular: Carb Solutions Simple Chef Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix. I did a search of Google and Groups, but could find no info.

| [Atkins and Me] Dinner - is this really dieting? | 17 Mar 2004 06:29 GMT | 26 |
I sit down to a plate containing well-fried (I like it burned) onion and green pepper, with some bacon, chicken, and prawns. And on the side, a large dollop of full fat creme fraiche. Looks great; tastes great. Who are we kidding here? I'll never lose weight like this. 'cept, I seem ...
