Dessert Questions30 Mar 2004 04:55 GMT16
I 've read this NG for a while and I know this will attract all the nasty
comments, BUT --- I have been LC'ing for 9 weeks and am curious if the
desire for sweet things ever subsides. I realize most of this is
psychological, but nevertheless I have to live with this psychi.
Sick of Fitday (rant)30 Mar 2004 04:47 GMT47
After a week of tracking my eating on Fitday, I haven't done it since. It
doesn't do good things to my brain.  I find myself obsessing even _more_
about food, being completely anal retentive about writing everything down,
making sure I have my little notebook, measuring ...
Sugar Substitutes30 Mar 2004 03:57 GMT16
I've been looking for a safe sugar substitute but for every article I find
promoting a product, I find two that show the negative affects of that
product.
Is there such a thing as a safe sugar substitute?
day 14 induction complete30 Mar 2004 03:47 GMT21
Today is day 14 the last day of induction on the Atkins program. I
lost 13 lbs. I have a Tanita scale which also measures body
fat. Unfortunately the body fat has not changed (still at 36%) even
though I lost 13 lbs.
This is too easy30 Mar 2004 03:17 GMT16
Hey everyone,
Well 40 down and still counting. I've returned to the gym  on a regular
basis and it's been great. All of my old friends are still there and
welcomed me back. It was very cool to see them and get back into my routine.
Any Seattle area Low-Carb stores?30 Mar 2004 03:06 GMT7

Too new to be in the yellow pages.
I know one is in Bellevue.

Psyllium Husk Question29 Mar 2004 22:23 GMT1
I have found psyllium husk a very beneficial additive to my meals. However,
for convenience, I would like to pre-mix a day's supply (3 meals)-- 3
tablespoons and 24 ounces of water.
My question: Is there any reason pre-mixed psyllium husk would be less
Fitday29 Mar 2004 20:29 GMT11
Newsflash
Fitday have discovered that people who are extremely frutrated lose
weight faster than people who are not.
So they designed their program to help us lose weight.
Plain yogurt question29 Mar 2004 20:10 GMT9
I've been thinking about trying to add plain yogurt back into my WOE.  I've
read that the lactose in yogurt converts to lactic acid.  Would it adversely
affect weight loss or not?  I'd love to try some cucumber salad with
homemade yogurt dressing for something different from the ...
South Beach more restrictive?29 Mar 2004 20:04 GMT6
I'm an Atkins guy 5 years now. My wife has started the SB diet after
reading the book.  (She's not a big meat eater, and is allergic to fish). It
seems to me that it is even more restrictive than Atkins induction. They
seem to limit carbs AND fat. What the heck do you use for ...
Tried Something Different29 Mar 2004 15:38 GMT2
Friday and Saturday I ate 0 carbs. I weighed Saturday I'd lost 2 pounds
since I'd weighed a week ago. I weighed today I'd lost 4 more pounds
since yesterday. I added 10 carbs today I'm going to weigh again
tomorrow and see if I gain any weight back from adding the carbs.
Personal observations of the YMMV kind (long)29 Mar 2004 13:53 GMT13
Someone else posted about having "epiphanies" regarding low-carbing,
and that got me thinking, as I creep toward the 50-pounds-lost mark,
about some of mine. There's no scientific/nutritional education to be
had from the following, just some things I've noticed while making
30 pounds down29 Mar 2004 13:18 GMT15
Well, folks, this morning my friendly neighborhood scale told me I was down
30 pounds since 12/1/03.  It feels pretty good.  It's hard not to get
impatient - the changes in my body are so gradual that I can barely see them
and the folks I see every day don't really see them either.  ...
