| Chicken additives | 10 Mar 2004 15:21 GMT | 5 |
There are so many ways you can buy chicken, but I always assumed raw chicken was just chicken. Now you can buy the "tender and tasty" whole birds I know Tyson and Perdue both have them. That's fine if you just want to pop it into the oven and roast it. If you like to season like we ...

Fresh coconut, that is. Also sugarfree grated coconut. Anyone have any idea? I'm looking for natural high-fat veggie foods which are low-carb.

| Anyone have snack food ideas? | 10 Mar 2004 14:51 GMT | 8 |
Can anyone list some good low-carb snacks that are satisfying, portable, and convenient to take to work? I always get hungry at work, a desk job, and would like to snack on healthy, low-carb food rather than junk from the vending machine.

| % Carbs by calories | 10 Mar 2004 14:30 GMT | 15 |
In reviewing a recent thread, where I was criticizing someone for eating cereal, I realized that one of the principles I use seems to be my own. When screening for foods with carbs to be allowed, I reject foods whose percentage of carbs is high. Thus, a cereal that may have 5 net ...

| I couldn't resist | 10 Mar 2004 12:33 GMT | 9 |
In another newsgroup that has nothing to do with diet. Some one made and off hand remark about Atkins... "I don't know how anyone can be so stupid to think that a diet of eggs and bacon is healthy"

| Why skim or 1% milk with coffee? It's not logical. | 10 Mar 2004 07:15 GMT | 9 |
The South Beach Diet tells us to have out coffee with only skim or 1% milk. This doesn't seem logical to me. I'd use less whole milk in my coffee to get the same whitening power as the 1% that I use, so wouldn't the two be comparable?

| Induction, Take 2! Here we go again! | 10 Mar 2004 02:46 GMT | 40 |
Hello everyone. I posted here about a month ago. I went on Induction for 2 weeks, lost 13 lbs, found my digestive system was waaaaay outta whack (I have IBS), so I eased too many carbs back into my life. My digstive system settled, but I regained some of the lost lbs.

| Third month in and wondering | 10 Mar 2004 01:03 GMT | 16 |
So many of us started off the new year with resolutions to change our WOE and now we are three months into the 'therefore be it resolved.' I've read so many articles saying that this is the month most of us will fall off .... and I know I easily could. What are you doing to stay ...

| Almond Flour "Toll House" Bars | 10 Mar 2004 00:45 GMT | 6 |
Don't make these if you are on induction or if cookies are included on your trigger food list (if you have one) or if you can't eat just one. And, for JC, these technically are not low carb [ ;)] So, here goes.

| Another study that irks me | 10 Mar 2004 00:29 GMT | 1 |
http://www.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/conditions/03/08/cholesterol.lowering.ap/index.html The problem with this study is that all the effects of these drugs are attributed to reduction in LDL. What if the reduction in heart attack levels (or whatever metric you'd like to use) is caused ...
