| Does your body use sugar-alcohols? | 02 Mar 2004 01:56 GMT | 11 |
I am confused as to what your body does with sugar-alcohols. Does it use them but not raise your insulin level, therefore slowing down weight loss but not adding weight or does it not use them at all? It seems when I use products with sugar-alcohols I am not loosing weight. I ...

This picutre is a little old when I was a little fatter. http://www.geocities.com/atlantic965/12-23-2002B.jpg I wore a ALMOST size 42 Dockers Pants in those days. Now I wear maybe a 38. But it does more or less represent the shape of my body. IE

| Low Carbs not working for me | 01 Mar 2004 21:00 GMT | 36 |
I have been on the Atkins induction phase for about 8 weeks now. My weight was 168# when I started following the plan. It is now 152.5#. I have been following the plan stricly. Meats, eggs, some cheese, approved veggies and salads with oil dressings. Three days ago I

| Atkins Bagels | 01 Mar 2004 18:47 GMT | 17 |
Hubby brought home a bag of these and they're pretty good toasted. I made a big batch of egg salad yesterday and tried it on 1/2 of a bagel and it was good. Not for induction, but on maintenance I can afford 1/2 of one per day.

| Last Nights Dinner | 01 Mar 2004 17:47 GMT | 8 |
It was great. Some folks seem to have gotten the impression that I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find lo-carb items on the menu. That was not what I was confronting. For me, it was whether or not I would stick to lo-carb eating or go for

| allowable munchies | 01 Mar 2004 17:12 GMT | 4 |
I am running rehearsals for an upcoming show and one of the things I do is provide munchies for my actors. Gnereally speaking, I put out veggies, fruit, hummus and pita. However, one of them is following Atkins, so obviously this is not a good assortment for him. As he is

| tonight's dinner | 01 Mar 2004 15:54 GMT | 5 |
Today was a fairly decent eating day. I had an Atkins breakfast bar for breakfast - it was an early, too-fast morning - with coffee and a T of heavy cream. For lunch, it was a salad with 4 ounces turkey breast, 2 ounces of the cheddar/sundried tomato/pesto cheese and oil and ...

| Two more sausage recipes | 01 Mar 2004 14:08 GMT | 1 |
As promised Curt. Here are theTuscan and Siena sausage recipes that I said I would post. I forgot about them. Sorry With the Tuscan, it's especially important to keep everything COLD. The pancetta's fat content makes it very difficult to work with if not cold.

| Soy Flour | 01 Mar 2004 13:37 GMT | 4 |
Has anyone out there had any experience with the soy flour that is on the market? I bought some tonight at Kroger but haven't made anything with it yet. It was the lowest carb flour I could find and I figured I may be able to do some baking with it.

| Low-carb chips | 01 Mar 2004 11:51 GMT | 20 |
Man, just when I'm trying to get my snacking under control, I come up with this idea. Well, it's a new idea to me, but I bet someone else thought of it first and I'm just slow. I spread a light layer of olive oil on a toaster oven tray, put some clumps

| little biceps | 01 Mar 2004 08:27 GMT | 4 |
Since it was so nice today, 60 and sunny, I put on a short sleeved shirt and did some outdoor work. When I reached out to lift something, low and behold, I saw little biceps. Kinda cool...spent the next five minutes staring at them : )

| YaaY! | 01 Mar 2004 07:54 GMT | 3 |
Just thought that I would share my progress with you all. So, this morning I tried on my target jeans (I don't like weighing myself, so I don't very often). Not only did I get them on like last time, I could do them up easily, and there is a little slac here and there. Not only

| My lipid profile | 01 Mar 2004 06:41 GMT | 4 |
I was rummaging through a pile of papers and found my lipid profile as tested shortly before I started low-carbing it, when I was still hovering around my heaviest weight. 206 Total cholesterol (goal < 200)
