habits are horrible.  Thank you for allowing me a month off of hosting the

The question is:  How did you do in April?????
Questions about Rye Bread04 May 2004 05:26 GMT12
I know that not all breads are equal (whole wheat being preferable). What's
the deal with old-fashioned rye? Is it supposed to be lower in carbs?
I've got a loaf here of Danish Style rye, the ingredients are (in order on
label): water, dark rye flour, whole wheat flour, dried sour ...
long-term induction or just 20 carbs04 May 2004 00:29 GMT102
I had planned to stay on Induction long-term because the book says you
can and because you lose faster.  In addition, I'm not having a real
hard time with the limited food choices.  If I'm given too much to
choose from I tend to choose everything.
Best butter?04 May 2004 00:10 GMT41
I know this has been covered at some point, but wanted to know what people
think?  What about Plugra?  Also, for spreading, what about salted or
unsalted?  What is the best tasting butter?
Thanks,
Stay On Atkins! Or else. . . .04 May 2004 00:10 GMT10
I did for a while and lost weight and was happy.
I blew the diet working for Coca-Cola. All the free Coke I wanted at the
Atlanta HQ. Yep, like a pig at a trough I took advantage of it.

critical induction questions03 May 2004 23:17 GMT10
I recently introduced myself, as I am just getting started with Atkins and I
knew I'd have lots of questions. True to form, here are a couple of things I'm
currently grappling with.
I've got the Atkins Essentials book, and one thing that's confusing me is the
Accidental cheese sauce03 May 2004 22:26 GMT3
I was too lazy to make a proper cheese sauce so I just put cut brussel
sprouts in a dish, poured some cream between them, laid butter and
sliced cheese on top, and microwaved it on 50% for about 6 minutes.
It came out like a proper cheese sauce! All the cream and cheese had
Mother's Day Dinner03 May 2004 21:52 GMT9
The following links are to the recipes for the foods that Crash is going to
prepare for me for Mother's Day.  Now all we have to do is find out when

mashed potatoes are out - mashed turnips in!03 May 2004 21:41 GMT44
Easter ham dinner. I did the usual, I made the gang their mac and cheese and
a mix of kale and cabbage.
I wanted something different, so I peeled and cubed up a turnip, and boiled
it till tender. While I was stirring in the salt and butter I noticed it

Eating at night03 May 2004 16:45 GMT7
Been going through all my eating logs for the past month and noticed
something; when I eat after 8pm weight loss slows. On seven of the eight
days last month that I ate after 8pm, even as little as a 150 calorie salad,
there was no weight loss the next day. However, every other day ...

Not-So-Tremendous Results03 May 2004 16:10 GMT16
I began Atkins on 4-19-04.  I'm now 11 days into it, and haven't seen
tremendous results in the first two weeks like everyone else claims they have.
I weighed myself on 4-20, on Irene's scale, which read 195.  (I'm not so sure
it's accurate, because it also told me I lost 20 pounds ...
